i am so glad brooklyn nine nine decided to use the term sex reveal party instead of gender reveal party 🥺🥺

not a fan of the whole sex reveal party thing in b99, but I’m even more annoyed at the thought that there seems to be so much difference for them between a father-son and a father-daughter relationship, to the point that the “bad dad curse” is only to be feared if they have a boy. I mean, I like the whole idea of Jake being afraid of being a bad father because of his dad issues, but the writers could have kept the same conflict (being afraid of being a bad father) without Jake’s dad saying “oh, I hope you are having a girl, you’ll be a bad dad otherwise” AND Jake not questioning that at any point. I really thought he was going to say something like it would be the same with a boy or a girl because he would treat a boy or a girl in the same way. But he didn’t, and between that and the whole “oh, male genitals, it’s a boy, let’s make a blue cake” I feel like I watched a completely different show.
