One Hale of a Sandwich

Rating: Teen/PG Word Count: 10,090 Author: whatthehale Summary: Stiles in bed isn’t really something Derek should be thinking about. Ever. Because the person who normally picks Lily up from school? Is Scott. Lily’s other parent. And Stiles’s partner. Not to mention the entire source of Derek’s current misery. AKA, the one in which Derek thinks Scott and Stiles are in a relationship and that they want to threesome with Derek. Spoiler Alert? They aren't and they don't.

Misunderstandings. So many misunderstandings. All of them so bad. I am thrilled. Derek is awkward and comes to conclusions, but I think it's very understandable. Well, and funny.

Easy Alpha

Rating: Teen/PG Word Count: 4,602 Author: interropunct Summary: Easy A/Teen Wolf AU. Wherein, Derek Hale is the high school slut, Jackson and Scott really need to learn to use their inside voices. And, contrary to pouplar belief, everyone is still a virgin.

When I asked for Teen Wolf Easy A AU I was actually expecting Stiles to be Olive, but it still easily fits, since everybody is a virgin anyway. Even if nobody knows about it.  I love good fics inspired by movies, especially when plot doesn't go exactly like you'd expect it to go. And this is one of them! Things don't go as bad as in movie, Derek doesn't really want to be called a slut and Stiles isn't cheesy school mascot. But there's Lydia.

You are waiting for a train...

Rating: Teen/PG Word Count: 4,764 Author: wiski Summary: Stiles woos Derek with his amazing poetic prowess at a New York City Subway station. Or, in which Stiles was a dumbass who wrote ridiculous(ly awful) haikus, and Derek was the dumbass who liked them.

This is the cutest and not awkward at all. Stiles flirts with Derek writing weird, nice stuff and then showing them to him. And the crowd on a station too. I can really imagine Stiles doing something like it and this is really heartwarming. I was expecting people's reactions to be ruining the mood a little, but instead they just add some realism.

Up and Coming

Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 20,710 Author: Fanhag102 Summary: Stiles and Derek work in the same building and every day ride up in the elevator together. That is pretty much the extent of their relationship—until one day the elevator breaks down, trapping the two of them inside and maybe forcing them to admit to each other that the attraction is mutual. Or, the one where Stiles and Derek have sex in an elevator.

This is a story which takes place in only one, small spot, but still manages to have an interesting plot and good characters. I loved how naturally you get to know more about both of them during the progression of the story. It gets explicit close to the end, but there's more than just sex here, believe me.  Plus Stiles is a video games designer (you might have noticed that I have a soft spot for fics where main characters work weird jobs), which is cool and actually plot-relevant.

They Call Him Professor Glitter

Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 68,243 Author: sourbrows Summary: After the death of his husband, Derek is stuck trying to raise his three children alone. He definitely needs some help, but he doesn't want it from Mr. Stilinski. He hates the guy; hates the glitter in his hair, hates the way he talks a mile a minute, hates the too-tight shirts he wear, hates the fact that he has the most beautiful eyes Derek has ever seen. It doesn't matter how he looks at is, either way, Derek is screwed.

I was very conflicted about this fic. I love all kid fics and teacher!Stiles and Derek being the father of his three betas is the best. On the other hand, I felt like the relationship between Derek and Stiles was a little forced here, because the werewolf was his canon (or even worse), mean self and Stiles just kept coming back. I had the feeling they're not going to be a happy couple and a quick look on the second part confirmed this. But it's still very interesting, different than the usual so-cute-you-can-puke kid fics. I've read 70k words of this and I'm still not sure what to think.

That Which You Cannot Undo

Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 28,181 Author: uraneia Summary: By twenty-eight, Stiles has resigned himself to a quiet life of working in his magic shop, selling Jackson Whittemore fart-inducing tea, and looking after his goddaughter. It's a good life. But the quiet goes to hell when his sister, Lydia, shows up with a crispy werewolf in her trunk and a bite mark on her shoulder, because hard on her heels comes the hottest person Stiles has ever seen, and he happens to be looking for his uncle. You know, the dead guy Stiles helped Lydia bury last night.

The best part of this fic were backstories. Almost every character had its own history, plus often separate family history. Which was very complicated and dramatic, but made characters complex. Maybe there were just too many of them for kind of a short fic. Plot was good in general, but I didn't really like the ending, too much of a fairy tale for me. Stiles has a kid, but there wasn't too much of it.

Professor Xavier's a Total Douchebag

Rating: Teen/PG Word Count: 12,995 Author: Fanhag102 Summary: Derek Hale can read minds. If he could have chosen a mutant power for himself instead of being given one by random, genetic happenstance it's safe to say mind-reading would not have been his 1st, 2nd, or even 96th choice. Maybe if he'd gotten the power of invisibility he wouldn't be sitting in a senior Economics class next to a hyperactive kid with a buzz cut who won’t stop thinking about dicks.

This is not the X-men crossover, but there are superpowers, werewolves and a lot of thinking about dicks (it's for science). I think that the universe is this fic's best quality: interesting, original and well-fitted to the canon. Oh, and an awesome match. I just hoped there would be more bad superhero jokes.

Thrill (like white-hot wire)

Rating: Mature Word Count: 4,148 Author: raisesomehale Summary: Stiles decides that Derek is his new best friend and that he is going to marry him the day he shares his dinosaur chicken nuggets with him.

It's another growing up together story: nice, easy and happy, with just a dash of Stilinski's family feels. There aren't any genius plot twists nor BAMF actions, but it's a good story if you need some cheering up or just want something quick to read.
