im looking for a tattoo/magical stiles fic, thats kinda AU in that theres fairies and elves etc, stiles has to get tattoos for his magic the last one being a huge triskel meaning (to him) father, brother, lover. each require the blood of said person in tattoo ink. stiles has not told derek about the "lovers" bit. they take awhile to get together in the fic, the elf chick who tattoos stiles is named Leeloo(??????) alpha pack i think with other probs. cant find on ao3 magical or tattooed stiles

Ahhh, sorry, I have no idea what this one is! I'm pretty sure I've read it, but no idea about the title. I'll try to look for it again tomorrow, but maybe any followers know which one is it?

One Hale of a Sandwich

Rating: Teen/PG Word Count: 10,090 Author: whatthehale Summary: Stiles in bed isn’t really something Derek should be thinking about. Ever. Because the person who normally picks Lily up from school? Is Scott. Lily’s other parent. And Stiles’s partner. Not to mention the entire source of Derek’s current misery. AKA, the one in which Derek thinks Scott and Stiles are in a relationship and that they want to threesome with Derek. Spoiler Alert? They aren't and they don't.

Misunderstandings. So many misunderstandings. All of them so bad. I am thrilled. Derek is awkward and comes to conclusions, but I think it's very understandable. Well, and funny.

Easy Alpha

Rating: Teen/PG Word Count: 4,602 Author: interropunct Summary: Easy A/Teen Wolf AU. Wherein, Derek Hale is the high school slut, Jackson and Scott really need to learn to use their inside voices. And, contrary to pouplar belief, everyone is still a virgin.

When I asked for Teen Wolf Easy A AU I was actually expecting Stiles to be Olive, but it still easily fits, since everybody is a virgin anyway. Even if nobody knows about it.  I love good fics inspired by movies, especially when plot doesn't go exactly like you'd expect it to go. And this is one of them! Things don't go as bad as in movie, Derek doesn't really want to be called a slut and Stiles isn't cheesy school mascot. But there's Lydia.

Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 21,157 Author: Dark_K Summary: It has to be said, before anything else, that Derek Hale is not, and has never been, a jerk. You know who is a jerk? Stiles’s boyfriend.

Actually the boyfriend isn't a jerk at all, unless you count being with Stiles as a jerky thing. Derek does.  I love that in this fic after having his heart a little broken Stiles isn't like oh god, my life's ended, now I must wallow in misery until he'll want me back, but just goes to college and gets a life. Of course they're both idiots like always, but much less than usually.

You are waiting for a train...

Rating: Teen/PG Word Count: 4,764 Author: wiski Summary: Stiles woos Derek with his amazing poetic prowess at a New York City Subway station. Or, in which Stiles was a dumbass who wrote ridiculous(ly awful) haikus, and Derek was the dumbass who liked them.

This is the cutest and not awkward at all. Stiles flirts with Derek writing weird, nice stuff and then showing them to him. And the crowd on a station too. I can really imagine Stiles doing something like it and this is really heartwarming. I was expecting people's reactions to be ruining the mood a little, but instead they just add some realism.

Kaleidoscope

Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 54,223 Author: Vendelin Summary: Stiles spends a year before college working at the all-night coffee shop in town. It's nice and quiet, until one dark and brooding Derek starts coming in every morning, ordering coffee so strong that it should not be fit for human consumption. Ever. Stiles tries not to be affected by the mystery guy, but it's not like anything else happens around here, so really, what did you expect? And when he's already in too deep, he realises he might even be in way over his head...

Okay, I haven't cried like that in... a long time. There's relationship drama and more serious drama and even though it ends well, I still cried like a baby during every chapter. Derek is an artist and Stiles works in a coffee shop and has a major crush. He's acting like an idiot and doesn't even try to hide it, but it's very canon and understandable. In the beginning I didn't really like how both of them were behaving, but when you know the whole story it all makes sense.  So, read, like, bring tissues.

Derek is seriously ill and it could be fatal, but the whole thing still has a happy ending.

Laughter is the Best Medicine

Rating: Teen/PG Word Count: 4,432 Author: literaryoblivion Summary: He hasn’t always been deaf. Although, sometimes, he wishes he was. Mainly because he knows what he’s missing. He remembers what the rustle of the wind in the trees sounds like, remembers what kids playing in the playground sounded like, what laughter sounded like. He misses it. A lot.

Derek is deaf and meets Stiles, who's an audiologist. Somehow they work things out. Actually it's pretty fluffy fic, especially with the ending. At first I didn't really got why Derek wouldn't want to see a doctor, but I can easily blame it on his usual... you know, just being Derek.

He's Not Mine

Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 68,534 Author: Sunnee Summary: Derek comes home to find an abandoned werebaby on his front porch and Stiles volunteers to help him out. Surprisingly, that is just the beginning of his problems.

Basically, Stiles and Derek find a kid, then they have to meet with another werewolf family and pretend they're mates, because there's a rumor that Stiles is very powerful wizard or something. If you read the fic it actually makes sense.  The plot might not be very original, but it's long, well-paced and good to read. Not so fluffy for a kid fic, but that's mostly because Derek is a loser. On the other hand, Stiles is all kinds of awesome!

lodestone

Rating: Teen/PG Word Count: 5,491 Author: llassah Summary: “We could…we could be something, couldn’t we?” Stiles murmurs, eyes slipping shut. Derek looks at the IV line in his arm, the bandages covering his chest, his leg. His hand, pale against the hospital sheets, palm up. Derek waits until he’s sure Stiles is asleep before he responds. It takes Stiles eight years to ask the question again. It's okay. Derek can wait.

Usually it's Stiles who pines over Derek rejecting him, but this time it's Derek who pines over Stiles because he rejected Stiles. Nice change! Okay, maybe nice isn't the best word, but it's actually pretty accurate here - there's no (more than usual) misery and sadness, just both of them doing the right thing. And you rarely find fics where you can say that.

Up and Coming

Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 20,710 Author: Fanhag102 Summary: Stiles and Derek work in the same building and every day ride up in the elevator together. That is pretty much the extent of their relationship—until one day the elevator breaks down, trapping the two of them inside and maybe forcing them to admit to each other that the attraction is mutual. Or, the one where Stiles and Derek have sex in an elevator.

This is a story which takes place in only one, small spot, but still manages to have an interesting plot and good characters. I loved how naturally you get to know more about both of them during the progression of the story. It gets explicit close to the end, but there's more than just sex here, believe me.  Plus Stiles is a video games designer (you might have noticed that I have a soft spot for fics where main characters work weird jobs), which is cool and actually plot-relevant.

The Truth Will Out

Rating: Teen/PG Word Count: 2,003 Author: elephantfootprints Summary: Stiles makes a truth serum and convinces Derek to be his test subject.

This is exactly why this blog has the short and sweet tag. Two thousand words of cute and funny caused by Stiles playing with a magic. There isn't too much plot, but it's nice and mood lifting.

Broken Cookie, Shattered Glass

Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 36,300 Author: clawstoagunfight Summary: After Stiles' best friend moves out of the apartment the two of them have shared for the last five years and into his own in a different city with his fiancee, Stiles is in desperate need of a new roommate. After a dinner with the Hale family, Stiles finally has a new roommate. The only problem is that he seems to hate Stiles' guts.

Poor Stiles. Just, poor Stiles. Life hates him here, but I love him. I never saw Stiles as a very flirty person, but here he does this to every person he meets. Which usually means one of the Hales. I don't even know what was better, the family itself or their relationship with Stiles. I usually don't get these family feels, but this is the exception. My only problem was that Derek too quickly stopped hating him, it was kind of unnatural for me.  Oh, and Stiles is a fortune cookie writer, this is awesome.

Handsome Hobo

Rating: Teen/PG Word Count: 8,852 Author: relenafanel, Swing Set in December Summary: Derek should probably stop rummaging through garbage if he doesn't want people to assume he's homeless.

There are so many Teen Wolf based on great misunderstandings, but this is the greatest misunderstanding ever. I don't know what's funnier, Stiles trying to be a Good Person, Derek reaserching hipster mating rituals or Scott's reactions to everything that's going on. It's really awesome by itself, but I also loved the way it was written. The narration is really cool and interesting!

They Call Him Professor Glitter

Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 68,243 Author: sourbrows Summary: After the death of his husband, Derek is stuck trying to raise his three children alone. He definitely needs some help, but he doesn't want it from Mr. Stilinski. He hates the guy; hates the glitter in his hair, hates the way he talks a mile a minute, hates the too-tight shirts he wear, hates the fact that he has the most beautiful eyes Derek has ever seen. It doesn't matter how he looks at is, either way, Derek is screwed.

I was very conflicted about this fic. I love all kid fics and teacher!Stiles and Derek being the father of his three betas is the best. On the other hand, I felt like the relationship between Derek and Stiles was a little forced here, because the werewolf was his canon (or even worse), mean self and Stiles just kept coming back. I had the feeling they're not going to be a happy couple and a quick look on the second part confirmed this. But it's still very interesting, different than the usual so-cute-you-can-puke kid fics. I've read 70k words of this and I'm still not sure what to think.

Operation Derek Hale's Sex Life (D.H.S.L.)

Rating: Teen/PG Word Count: 16,238 Author: DylanOhbrien Summary: Stiles works at Derek's family's company. Derek may or may not be a little bit in love with him. "How Derek ends up with six girls in his apartment, he will never know. All he knows is that his liquor supply is dwindling by the second as it flows freely between the women. And that isn't even the best part. Oh no, the best part is that every single person in that room has made it their life goal to get him laid by a one Stiles Stilinski. Why is this his life?"

You know these fics where Derek is a super antisocial guy who meets people like once a year? This isn't it. He still pretty much hates people, or at least says he does, but he's also constantly surrounded by women. Who are awesome, but that's not the point. It all results in a lot of cliché situations that don't work and a few that do.  Nice, funny, not too long but also not to short, with many great characters.

Intermediate Braiding Skills

Rating: Teen/PG Word Count: 10,428 Author: apocryphal Summary: In which Lydia assembles her Halloween costume, learns to make friends, and shamelessly exploits her father's crush on Stiles Stilinski.

Have you read Daddy Do's? This is one of my favourite kid fics and the one thing that I blame for my love to fancy braids. So, you can only imagine how happy I was to find out there's a sequel!  In this part there's more of both daughters, which shows us that Lydia isn't actually as awesome little girl as it might look. We also get less braids but more romance, so it's still great! But well, I'm in love with this whole series.

A Cinderfella Story

Rating: Teen/PG Word Count: 19,389 Author: yerawizardjane Rating: A Cinderella Story AU: Stiles thinks he has found his soulmate online in a Yale chatroom, under the name 'B@man'. Little does he know that it's the most popular guy in school... Derek Hale.

A cinderella story with the internet and a lot of superheroes references and costumes. I liked the first half better, because relationships in the second one seemed a little forced for me and the ending was a little too perfect. But well, this is just a personal preference. It was also nice and fluffy and cool high school au.
