Keepsake
As you can see, Iāve been figuring these guys out on-and-off.
Anyway-
BAAPHLES: a thrown together, incomplete compendium but I donāt think Iāll explain them otherwise.
A polygenous species- families often being comprised of 1-2 adult males and 5-20 adult females. They partner for life.
Given some similar characteristics, some do think they share common ancestry with Pacworld Caprinae (sheep, goats,) but no one can say for certain, and actual Netherworld evolution experts are few and far between. Some wonder if theyāre even related to Pacworld ungulates at all.
They, like dragons and gargoyles, grew the third eye developed from a light-sensory organ to cope with the dark environment of the netherworld.
They are omnivorous. Primarily, they graze seasonally on the Enebrius flower- also known as The Netherās Kiss. It is a psychoactive plant with hallucinogenic properties, and is often used by ghosts in⦠recreational activities. The baaphles, however, consume it enough that the toxins have become ingrained in their systems as a sort of venom. It does affect them slightly, but they grow a tolerance from the trace amounts in their motherās milk. When there is limited Enebrius, however, they eat whatever they can.
They themselves are hunted, by the few beings who dare. Their third eye keeps a look out for prey, but much like Pacworld sheep their other two keep a lookout for threats.
A group is called an ambush- a term only decided within the last few decades.
Their venom is also harvested for recreational purposes, but in the wild Baaphles use it to slow down and disorient their prey- a single bite can sedate a guardian ghost in under two seconds.
Believe or not, a couple netherworld cultures are actually nuts enough to domesticate these things. Their wool is exquisite, their horns made use of, and their meat and milk is rich in flavor (and drugs.) Lineages of baaphle herders tend to accumulate the toxin due to consumption- the affects more instantaneous if drinking raw milk, like Cake did.
Edit: thanks to @ribbondee for the plantās name!
Blinkyās noble steed from this lovely drawing by @feralwaff1e is still alive and well present-day. More or less.

Ivan meeting CrĆØme and Peaches (changing fruit-cupās name), a pair of domesticated baaphles.
The girlies are intrigued by this rugged stranger beyond the fence.
a foolproof disguise
Behold, Cakeās monster family
(Version w/ the actual relations)
Grand-baa Ivan
Iām not sure theyād be ānamedā in the traditional sense, but I think Iād like to give Cakeās monster siblings/family (the sheep) nicknames, or something for Cake to refer to them as when talking about them. Not sure how to go about it tho, so
How should i ānameā Cakeās monster family?
Just random names
dessert-based names
designations based on distinguishing features
Some combo/multiple (features + dessert?)
something else (suggestions in the comments)
