It had been a while since Calix had heard that voice.
One hand tightened on the strap of his bag and he gave a half smile, “I - uh - well, you have made that clear before...at least, some sorts of want...”
“You shouldn’t be walking all alone this time of night. There are dangerous people around. Who knows what might happen…”
One hand dropped to his belt, fingers brushing at one of the blades there, in case it would need to be pulled free quickly. At the same time, he took a measured and quick step - to the side and back, moving to face the source of the voice - and be ready to defend against it if need be.
He was a bit take aback by the figure that stood before him - the lich towering over him.
“Fortunately for me,” he said, not missing a beat, “I’m one of those dangerous people.”
