A whistle, short and sweet rang in the air, purely for the sake of drawing attention. Once that attention was on the tennis pro, a box was held out towards the intended receiver (even if it was more dinged up than a birthday present was supposed to be,) and a brisk "Take it" was spoken. Not the best at formality, but some would say being blunt was a positive trait. Said gift contents weren't too fancy, some snacks and toys that weren't particularly expensive, but hopefully the intent shined.
“Wha--Oh...”
He wasn’t expecting any gifts from any of his classmates, in actuality. Especially from ones that didn’t seem to care about him or appeared to be constantly irritated by him. The gift was nothing special; but the fact Ryoma gave him anything at all was...
... Well. It was surprising, at the very least.
A part of Kokichi wondered if it was out of pity, and for a brief moment, he felt anger at his own assumption boil in his chest. Though it quickly dispelled, as he decided that he didn’t think Ryoma would be the kind of person to give a gift only because he pitied someone.
Maybe, it was just an act of kindness. Something to appreciate.
The thought made him smile; a soft, warm, happy curl of his lips that was nothing but genuine.
“... Thank you!”
oh my god.
Quietly pats Ritsuka's arm - a soft gesture, a gentle gesture, something unassuming. "I'm about to go eat lunch with my brother, would you like to join us? I think - I think he needs more friends."
“Mm?” Ritsuka looks up from her book-- correction, wakes up from her afternoon nap-- and, sleepily, regards Chiemi in her request. She tries to blink away the sleepiness and make it look like she wasn’t just passed out on the table.
“Of course!” Nevermind that Ritsuka has no appetite, and can hardly get an apple into her stomach. “You should introduce me. I’m not very good at making friends, either, so we’re two of a kind, eh?”
