Fic: Strike the Bell (Klaine; PG-13)

Title: Strike the Bell Author: @thehouseofthebrave​ (A_fearsome_thing on ao3) Rating: PG-13 Word Count: ~35k-40k Summary: Written for @blaineandersonbigbang. 15 years ago, Blaine’s father made a deal with the Captain of the Flying Dutchman which left his 8 year old son indentured to the ship. Now his time is up, and Blaine is nearing his freedom. He’ll finally be able to live on land, make his own choices, and maybe even seen if the 5 years of correspondence with one Kurt Hummel has the potential he thinks it does. But a lot can change over time, and with a Captain slowly descending into madness and an unknown threat looming on the horizon, Blaine’s escape won’t be as easy as he hoped Warnings: Character death in a world where death doesn’t really end much at all? Some violence.

Based on Card Captor Sakura. Blaine has barely gotten used to the prophetic visions, now it turns out he has accidentally released a set of magical cards hidden in NYADA's Round Room. Or so claims Brittany, (current) Guardian of The Book, who charges him with the task of getting them all back and sealing them away before disaster strikes. Playing superhero seems doable enough but things do get a lot more confusing when Blaine meets Kurt, fellow NYADA student, experienced magic wielder and the star of one of Blaine's most distressing visions. 

Art for At a Distance, They Could Be Angels by tinysocieties, in the BABB 2015. Much thanks to my author, my fellow artists, and the ever-helpful mods, who all made this experience something special! Drawing Card Captor Blaine was a lot of fun, so I hope you enjoy the fic it’s based on, which very easily inspired me and was great to read as a fan of CCS and Blaine. A Night With The King     By:  Klaineanummel

I had the opportunity to create art for two different writers in the Blaine Anderson Big Bang 2015.  The second piece A Night With The King by Klaineanummel posted this week.

Working on this piece was a good challenge for me.  The subject matter for this story is something that I would normally not choose to read.  But now I am so glad I did!   Klaineanummel writes beautifully and her story is engaging.  I am eager to read the next 3 parts --- once they are completed/posted.   The series can be found HERE.  @klaineanummel has other great pieces up at the Archive of Our Own  --- several more in my usual wheelhouse.  Check them out --- just be certain to read the warnings first.

Since I don’t draw (or paint), don’t have access to Photoshop and don’t have much/any graphics training, I’m limited to what I can create using photos gacked from the internet, a handful of free apps and a small Kindle tablet.  For this piece, I had to figure out how to make the characters look like they belonged in a Medieval setting.  This involved pasting the heads of the cannon characters on to other bodies - not something I’ve done before - and not an easy thing to do without the proper tools.  It was a challenge -- and a learning experience for which I am grateful. (I’m still not satisfied with how Kurt and Blaine turned out --- but I think Burt and Dave pass muster.)  Draft ideas for this story, art for the BABB 2015, and my covers for other fanfics can be found HERE.

Sneak Peek …… Blaine Anderson Big Bang 2015!

I had the opportunity to work with two different authors on the latest BABB! The first, the lovely @lilyvandersteen will be posting their story on Monday.
