This time of year is all about learning to give thanks! 123s OF THANKFULNESS by Patricia Hegarty & illustrated by Summer Macon is a wonderful new board book about teaching our littlest ones about being grateful. . . The book isn’t Thanksgiving-themed, so it’s truly a wonderful tool to teach gratitude any time of year. But I really appreciate having this one in my arsenal of books right now with my twins, since I love rotating out their basket of books seasonally. . . It breaks down the idea of saying thank you into simple concepts, and uses a soothing, rhyming pattern that my kids adore. What are some of your favorite bedtime stories? 🦉 Many thanks to @bloomsburychildrens for sending us this copy of LITTLE OWL'S BEDTIME, about a little owl who has many, many excuses to keep from falling asleep -- and the very patient mommy owl who tackles each hurdle as they come. . . My twins aren't old enough yet to try any of these bedtime delay tactics, but I'm sure they're coming! 😂 My daughter, especially, gets the worst case of baby FOMO when it's time for naps. Start them young! 📖 The kiddos studied this morse code chart found on the inside of the dust jacket for SAMUEL MORSE, THAT'S WHO, a new picture book biography from @mackidsbooks (thanks to @mmbtours for hosting). . . Fun fact, my brother & I actually had morse code paddles connected between our bedrooms growing up, so we taught ourselves morse code. 🐻 BOOK REVIEW! 🐻 TIME TO ROAR by @rantingowl arrived from the lovely folks at @bloomsburychildrens last week, when Lily was conveniently wearing her bear PJs, so obviously a mini #StyledByBooksBabies photoshoot had to happen. And then we read the book together, and oh my goodness. . . Aside from the beautiful illustrations, I absolutely love the message of this book. Not only does it teach kids to stand up for injustices (hello, tiny activists!), but it addresses the different ways to stand up. Sometimes it requires kindness or distractions, and sometimes you need to do whatever it takes to survive. But sometimes you have to be loud; sometimes, you have to ROAR. . . NURSERY When asked to describe myself, I'd often say bookworm. I love reading and I really want to pass the love of books onto Lizzie, so we can escape into the world of imagination together.
