Happy Friday with some PB&J Babka! One of the kiddos recently retested for nut allergy and go figure she came up not allergic to any nuts! No epi pens anymore and she can try all treats with nuts and peanuts. This #babka is rich (as all babkas are!) with peanut butter, honey, raspberry/grape jam, and walnuts. Sometimes I make bread to knead it cause it’s a bit therapeutic. I also wanted to use up some blackberries so it’s a blackberry babka with pistachio paste. The pistachio green paste is super tasty but seems to have disappeared into the bread while baking. So good nonetheless! #blackberrybabka #blackberryandpistachio #babka #babkabread #babkas #breadmaking Here’s the general recipe I use for the bread: 2 cups flour 1 tsp salt 1 packet yeast (mix in 1/2 cup warm water) 1 egg 1/8 cup honey 1 teaspoon vanilla (or your extract of choice) 1/4 cup oil Basically mix and knead. Let rest until risen. Roll into 9X12 rectangle. Full with fav filling. Roll up length wise into roll. You could cut up and make rolls or cut down middle lengthwise and then wrap around into babka shape. Let rise again then bake until temp reaches 190 degrees.
