Due to the fires burning only 30 miles away and covering our city in ash and choking smoke, I've been a little preoccupied with "what if " scenarios. I was able to get a little bit of work done on Baby Groot so that he can now stand on his own. I also got another tattoo completed on the Manson doll. My hands have been getting stiff and painful quicker than they used to so creating the tiny tattoos on dolls like this is difficult. The first day of school is always hectic. Since my husband is out of town today was the first day I could run some errands without a complaining 8-year old in tow. Though. I didn't have a ton of time, I discovered some awesome "corduroy" felt at the craft store and decided it would be the perfect medium to make the plates on baby Groot. What do you guys think so far? Finally watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 last week and was inspired to create a Baby Groot pattern. He needs a few adjustments and smaller eyes but I think he turned out pretty well! I'm debating whether or not to add more detail such as twigs, leaves and some sort of strips to look like Groot's "skin".
