Phe lingered again at the cove, ready to leave another package with a note for the decanus when she finally saw the man, who seemed to just be heading in. She hustled up to him, holding the new package out to him. "I found it, sir!"

He was expectant when one of the recruits pointed her out in the distance. Though he had only seen her once before, she was distinct among the soldiers moving cautiously around the cove. Almost immediately his eyes transfixed on the object in her hand. Intrigued by it, and also just a little excited.

"So which one did you find for me then?"

"AH, sir, I can't but help to over hear your words that you're um, exchanging with that robot, but I can offer you a MUCH cheaper price than /that/ for Huck Finn. I mean, you might as well be supporting the NCR for 50 denarii." Phe said with a snorting laugh.

"Good. Maybe they'll buy new spines for their troopers. I have no use for these coins. I do have use for the book. What does it matter if I pay too much so long as I am satisfied?"

Scrounged up enough caps to go to that trading post again. I should stop visiting, I’m pretty sure I’m weirding her out but if he so much as touches her near me I’ll finally have a proper reason. What would the kid do? Hate me? I can tolerate that but would she be safe on her own?

He made me pat his head!! I should’ve smashed his skull in but the savage wouldn’t let go, I bet he knows it messes with me. Well he can find someone else to pat his head because next time I see him I will make sure he stays his distance.

I’m also glad he smells worse than me.

Today I bought a toy robot for Vitus from a nice young woman. "Roberto Robit." I write the name down so that I remember it. She was shy about sharing her name for it, but overall friendly enough. I am pleased to find Legion-friendly caravans in the Mojave. I expect we'll see more and more of them as these lands become ours...
