She can also be insecure with her appearance if she starts to think about it too hard, or has to dress up for some reason or another

She buries herself in her work and avoids dealing with it as long as possible/until she can come to a point to deal with it properly
Usually whatever’s easy to grab and eat on the go, fond of granola bars and the like. has a habit of munching on potatoes (chips, fries, etc) but usually tries to balance that out with healthier options

She’s flat-out avoiding it (she’s a lesbian and is REALLY TIRED of guys hitting on her. she probably needs a sweet gf to remind her to stop working for a few hours a day and relax and to make her tea and watch nature documentaries with her)

in public, she’d try not to make a scene. in private, either loud cursing or acting like a complete baby, depending on her mood beforehand
She’s pretty content with where she is in life; she wants to continue to do her research and learn and teach.
(She also would really love to study the Surface one day, but her official stance on that is that the Burning World myth is a scam and scientifically dubious... even if it’s not)
she can sleep anywhere as long as she has a sleeping bag, but she’s a light enough sleeper that she’ll wake up if she needs to - Veil is a very light sleeper, however, and will wake her up if there’s a problem

probably confusion at first. then she’d pretend she doesn’t care because it’s not important or whatever... but she’d think about it a lot and try to figure out who could’ve sent it

runs on tea and coffee, either cranky as hell or a giant baby no in between, manages to still get her work done though
her love for the 99 Caverns and the creatures that live in it, determination to persist no matter what

crying a lot, mostly; after he gets done with crying he actually deals with the trauma though, most of the time
he doesn’t really have the luxury of being picky, being an outlaw and all. he eats a lot of beans and wild game. when he’s able to spoil himself, pork chops and ribs are favorites, and fresh fruits/pastries
farmer’s wear to protect him from the elements, while working before and now from being a vagabond
he’s shy and literally never kissed a girl until he ran into a childhood friend after being on the run... he’s entirely taken by her even though he thinks she’s 4534 times too good for him

he’s probably numb to it now
he never really wanted a whole lot. just a small house with a garden and some animals with a nice wife and kids, but he knows he’s not gonna ever see that now
in a sleeping bag in a tent, used to hard surfaces, sleeping sitting up, and taking naps on horseback (mule-back technically). when he’s able, he’s usually sprawled out on his stomach
