I believe Jake to be Autistic/Aspergic but I hate how the fandom goes about the subject of jake and autism.

I know first hand what Autistic people are like. So, to begin we all know Jake is a massive fucking cunt right? WRONG. Jake can be a nice person, but lets take for example when he was speaking with Jane, he was quite innocently telling her about his problems, as any friend should feel comfortable with. He didn't know how angry she was and when she fucking blew her shit he was probably left terribly confused BECAUSE HE HADN'T SEEN IT COMING. HE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND OTHERS EMOTIONS WELL AT ALL.

The iconic 'double pistols and a wink' is dorky as fuck, we all know that. Jake does not. No neurotypical person would do that in because they know the consequences of acting dorky in public and they realise its not a good move. HE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND SOCIAL NORMS.

Now we'll move onto his film obsession. From when he was introduced we knew he had a thing for films.They're all over the place and comedically over the top, this is emphasised when Hussie draws him going to smooch one of the posters on his wall. One of the most well known and media drawn out features of Autism are the obsessions with only a few things, in some cases only 1, Autistic people are known for their black and white, straightforward thinking, because of this they focus on only one thing to make it better rather than lots of things that are fucking shit. (eg, art) Jakes film obsession to me is an obvious link to Autistic behaviour.

Going back to what I said about different ways of thinking, Jake shows that, even during the , arguably, most distressing point in his life,. When his grandma was murdered. Think about how you would react to seeing your dead grandma, the only person you knew, you learnt everything from her and you looked up to her, I'm betting any average person would not react well to it at all. However, Jake does the opposite. Of course he is shocked at first but immediately afterwards he thinks to himself 'well shit guess I have to burn it so nothing happens to it' and that's all. From what we know, he was upset and shocked of course but he burned the body as soon as he could because to him it was a LOGICAL solution. Burn the body or something will eat or mutilate it. He did not take emotions into account he just did it.

The final point for this part is how he enjoys his isolation. We have 3 kids, all have lived alone, grew up alone and finally had the chance at human contact. Jake, Roxy and Dirk. When Dirk and Roxy met up they were happy with it, just look at Roxy's face when her dreamself was picked up by Dirk. She was so happy! And I would no doubt say the same for Dirk even if he is a stony faced cunt. Jake, however, did not react so well, he enjoyed his time alone on his island home, and during the game actively sought out isolation. He enjoys being alone. He pushed Dirk away because they are two polar opposites in this sense.

While some of these behaviors may have been caused by his upbringing alone on a monster island the cause of Autism has not yet been confirmed as genetic or environmental. 

I get angry when people say Jake's a dumb shit, because he's not. To me he's perfectly average in terms of intelligence. Not understanding Jane's hostile behavior does NOT make him a dumb shit. people who call him a dumb shit because of that are the real dumb shits here. Not understanding someone because they're too fucking hostile to explain things does not make you stupid, it was not his fault it was Jane's.

So that leads onto the reasons why I believe him to be Aspergic but use the much wider term Autistic throughout this. Aspergic people have normal to incredibly high intelligence level. Unfortunately, thats never how Aspergic people are portrayed. Aspergic people are portrayed as super computer intelligence people who are that cool distant emotionless anime type assholes. But the portrayal of Aspergic people in media is a rant for another day.

And fucking finally we have some hate for the homestucks. As a fandom you treat mental illness fucking terribly. Have you ever thought about what Mituna is actually like? But on the flip side, you never care enough to actually think into these things a little bit. The only coverage of Jake and Autism I have seen so far is "JAKS NOT AUTISTIC. HES JUST A IDITO!!!!!!!11!!" Which is entirely wrong. You have no proof for this and I doubt you know what Autism is.
