I'm babysitting rn and this is me since my cousin is being a brat.
SURPRISE GUEST COMIC!
So my wonderful friend agreed to babysit my son while we went off to SDCC this past weekend and was clearly inspired...thanks again for putting up with our beautiful anti-social boy, Karen! :D

thinking about how my little sister gave me an anxiety attack while i was babysitting her because of what a screamy little shit she was being and how my parents probably didnt punish her for it
Nothing makes me want to transform into an actual, raging, fire breathing pterodactyl more than nap time when I babysit. How? Like so!
Me: Okay, the kid is down for her nap. Now, the air conditioner is on, the windows are closed, and there is absolutely no way that any sound can get into the house and disrupt her sleep.
The rest of the world: GARBAGE TRUCKS! FIRE TRUCKS! AMBULANCES! SIRENS! FIREWORKS! JACKHAMMERS!
And to top it all off, the dog goes and gives himself a shake and jangles his collar RIGHT OUTSIDE HER ROOM.
Lily: [watching Mahiru blunder] I never tire of watching Mahiru-kun.
Kuro: I do.
Alrighty now English language, riddle me this - If a mom and dad have sons and daughters, an aunt and uncle have nieces and nephews, grandparents have grandkids, cousins have first second third etc. cousins, and godparents have godchildren, then what title do I, as a babysitter, use to address the kids I babysit?
“The kids I babysit” is awfully long and not at all cute. “Babysitees” is a bit weird. The kids call me their babysitter, so what do I call them? Heck on that note, what do nannies call the kids they nanny for?
Sure I could say “I’m their babysitter” but that feels so distant, do you know what I mean? Not like saying “She’s my niece,” etc and so on. And even though I may only spend a few hours with them a week, I feel like after a certain point in time I’ve developed enough of a relationship with the kids to call them my something, besides ‘my charges’.
I haven’t even seen any children for 72 hours and I have “wheels on the bus” stuck in my head.
