she can't help but look mortified at her utterly horrible captain's demands. how dare he! she'll certainly give him a piece of her mind later—once she can focus on anything but the little black furball studiously climbing her leg. ' ahh... a home? i really don't have time... but... goodness, look at those eyes! '

jushirou smiled as the little black kitten seemed to take a liking to nanao. he had to encourage her then since they seemed quite compatible. ‘ well if you’d like i could keep the little one for you during work hours and you can come claim them when it’s hometime. how is that? ‘ win win for everyone. except shunsui perhaps but he wasn’t around during the day always so it worked for him too.

   “Hm...” there’s a softness that grows in her eyes, the flowers that bloom from underneath the blankets of now melting snow cause her to feel nostalgic. Certain memories start to trickle until pale pink lips part, “Do you remember the book I read to you once? It was sort of childish but, someone loved it” her tone bounces as she teases, moments like this feel far and in between. “The story about the flower princesses, now, every time Spring seems to come it always stays in my mind”

    “I know, at this point I think I’m just pitying myself” the air of silence seeps into the room, saturating every little corner with the quietness that seems so deafening. For a moment, fingers pinch the bridge of her pale nose as she inhales rather deeply.  “I’m sorry, walking around moping and continuing to dwell on bitterness never gets you far does it?” for a momentary second, Lisa flashes a timid smile. 

   She then reaches out, patting Nanao’s shoulder as she shakes her head. A playful jab is given as the fox like grin is briefly shown, “You’ve become wiser, I’m impressed. I feel as if I will need to test you now by falling asleep on the job and drooling over papers just to see if you truly have grown” the petite woman lean’s ever so slightly in, already humorous in her attempts to lighten the mood up. 

   “I think I’ll start now, this is an excellent time” the spurts of self pity and heartache had by now turned into a dullness, leaving slowly but surely. Her words sincere as always came out in the friendliest of tones, “Thank you though for getting me to put my head back on, I’m grateful you are by my side”
