I watched the 1991 classic #Backdraft today as well as the brand new 2019 sequel #Backdraft2. Kurt Russell is not in the sequel for obvious reasons and the new story centers around the son of his character 28 years later. This would've been a great role for Kurt Russell's real life actor son, Wyatt Russell, who is the same age now as the son character. The only actors to reprise their roles from the original film are Stephen Baldwin (who was the lead in the original playing Russell's younger brother) and Donald Sutherland who plays a long incarcerated serial arsonist. The original had amazing practical fire effects but CGI is used for most of the sequel. The original is a solid 10/10 and an absolute classic that I will continue to rewatch for years to come.
