Finally I had the first outdoor-ride with the Backfire Ranger. It did not take long to get comfortable and feel “locked in” as I was going faster along the main road on the bike path to work this morning. I did get a bit wet from snow melting along the way, but not too bad. 3 degrees C and not a cloud in the sky. I went past a biker in his condom-suit, and of course, his testosterone level rose and he almost rammed me trying to get past me again. (ridiculously low self esteem I guess). I did feel some wobbles from the rear wheels, but not enough to get scary. Finally I had my first few minutes on the Backfire Ranger. It is soooo quiet! Bumps are just gone and the turns - oh my the turns! You can turn so fast, and this makes it compete a bit with my Onewheel. Well - let’s be real, nothing beats OW with the hands free-riding and flow feel. Still - this was fast, smooth and it felt safe from the first few seconds.
