I hate backgrounds. Utterly hate doing them despite how much a well done background can really pull a piece together. To try and force myself, did 4 days of challenging to do a background a day...and actually ended up doing 6 total.

Stared the first time by drawing from a picture and hated it. Then watched some videos on how to think of making interesting landscapes and tried then to make up my own. These are my favorites of the ones I did. Still not great but better than I thought they'd be.

This is a redraw of the art on the right. The only differences are that I decided to change the scenarios. The one on the right its just Maple meeting with her kids before the great battle. While the redraw is AFTER the battle and her and her fellow survivors were defeated and retreated back to the dark forest. She contemplates everything she's done and meets her kits at the borderline between Starclan and the dark forest. She misses them. Also I gave up trying to draw a background on the redraw too painful. ~

Shapes and colors. I tried doing something a little more simplified this time, but then I couldn’t figure out what to put in the background. I wanted some bold colors so.. bam. Okay I was asked to do a realistic panda so I tried but I have to have a photo to work from most of the time so I used a photo with an indistinct background. I did not like the way that came out....nevertheless here's the panda....#panda #backgroundssuck #forafriend
