Please read this from my favourite Elephantgirl @elephant_stories_with_fiona This page is about presenting my own images. Videos and photographs I have taken on location. 💙This is important to read to understand the reason I have imported this image. I took a screen shot of this image a couple of years ago and held onto it. Why? Because to me this represents a subject that infuriates me. The folk who say.... “Elephants are my Spirit Animal” and then choose to bathe with or ride an elephant. Flowers in your hair and riding bare back on an elephant does not represent being in touch with nature and your spirit animal. Quite the opposite. Trust me. This is supporting working elephants. The elephant walking infront is saddled. A choice here clearly made to ride bareback. Is it a compassionate choice? I am confused with those who profess to love elephants yet see nothing wrong with bullhooks, saddles, riding, bathing and playing in the mud with an elephant. If you are unsure, please Google the Phajaan and have a look at how these elephants are trained. Then, when informed, make your decision if you still want to support elephant riding and bathing. If you still want to then you do so with no feeling for the animal suffering. Please do your homework. Please check and ensure you are supporting an ethical sanctuary. No riding. No bathing and definitely no playing in the mud with the elephants. It’s important you are part of the change. Thank you.
