December, 2015. Abandoned waterpark outside of Hué, Vietnam. December, 2015. Full size Irish human beside full size Vietnamese human. This is Yen, cousin of a Vietnamese man, Thuan, who came to live with us when he was studying in Dublin 8 years ago. Always bring a spare bank card travelling kids. I broke my Visa card in Cambodia and since then I'd been relying on the lovely people I'd been travelling with for loans..! My card was posted to Yen and she held it til I could get to her in DaNang, here. Relief.. After lunch and the obligatory 'oh ma gah you so tahh' pics for her friends, she convinced me to visit her husband's English class to be assistant teacher for the day. Was fun to be back in the classroom for a day. Vietnam, 2015. Parked up and enjoying the view. After a long windy shitty road and a lot of moaning from everyone else involved, we reached the sea and a causeway on the other side of the headland about half way between Nha Trang and our unexpected destination in Bai Xep. Previous to this we stopped for lunch in a little town where no one spoke English and the only 'restaurant' was someone's living room.
