I’m sorry, but I just gotta get something off my chest.
At best, The Backrooms [REDACTED] roblox game has an egregious disregard for the source material it is pulling from (the various wikis). At worst, it is actively queerphobic (intentionally or otherwise).
The game took A. River – a canonically sapphic, nonbinary polygamous character with neopronouns – and made hir…*checks notes*…a monogamous cishet female serving as the love interest for the cishet male protagonist? WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING?!
What makes this even worse is that the decision was very much intentional. I distinctly recall bringing the character’s proper pronouns to the attention of the devs, who implemented them in the next update…but only for that one update. They then proceeded to revert back to female pronouns afterwards, like they just couldn’t even be bothered to try. What the actual fuck.
I’m surprised there hasn’t been any backlash against this yet, but for my own sanity I’m choosing to believe it’s because the playerbase and fans remain unaware of the source material.

No actually, it is genuinely insane what meg is doing with backrooms redacted. I'm not a fan of respecting canon sources, I admit it, but the way he tries to rewrite everything in the most AWFUL WAY is ridiculous. Every character in the game, revolves around Mike, humans, mimics, EVERYONE. We barely know about Phoebe, why she decided to help us ( if the reason is because "she finds us interesting" well that's weird AS HELL.). We barely know about Ophelia, again, what would be her reasons to care so much about Mike? Kyoto, we literally don't know anything about her besides she is "jealous" of Mike for thinking he is betraying the m.e.g or something. We barely know about River, Eden whose whole existence revolves around MIKE, because besides him, we haven't seen them having something of their own (and not don't make me talk about the queer representation erasure, even if I think real representation is way better that fictional, deleting a character their neo pronouns and making hir heterosexual and monogamous only to date your own character it's weird behavior) (...not so character of your own, everybody's knows that's kat /j)
Yeah, maybe it is because the game revolves around Mike pov, but there are one hundred ways to make us learn about other characters and seeing them progress, but noooo, let's make another level of mike aura farming and doing everything alone, because apparently, ophelia and his m.e.g companions don't exist!
I literally have an explanation of why every character acts the way they do. But that's the problem, me and other fans we have to fill those gaps up because we BARELY KNOW ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE BESIDES MIKE( we barely know about him too actually, level 699 barely explains about his past) the dialogues aren't enough, the files on the computer aren't enough either (because they left more questions than answers, like about Elise, about why Alek took Mike under his wing the first day, about Caleb before getting the scar, about why Kyoto left the omega base)
Man, omg of course this game has to be from roblox... this guy better start get working on that writing or I'm killing myself!

Same anon that asked about the fav Sonic game. Are there any other games or franchises you enjoy outside of Sonic?
Oh boy okay haha.
The only other game/franchise that I enjoyed that could rival my love for Sonic, was Skylanders. I was obsessed with those games. I have over 600+ figures from the game, including some pretty rare and exclusive ones that made my wallet cry. I have every game, and my sibling, dad, and I would play together. Those are some of my fondest memories. My dad and I would always go through and 100% the games.
I was briefly into Spyro. By briefly I mean as a child I was obsessed with Dawn of the Dragon.
Skyrim was another game I got way into. But that one died pretty quickly. I had gotten to level like, 87, and was on a 4 hour spree without saving like a dumbass. Well, I got to a point where I experienced a bug with Meridia's Beacon where I would drop from the sky and instead of being caught by the next scene, I would land and die, and when I would respawn in the sky, I would fall to my death again (iykyk). The only way to fix the issue was to reload my last save... from 4 hours ago. So much lost progress. Haven't touched the game since.
I really love playing Buckshot Roulette. Hooked on that game.
Fallout 4 could rival my Sonic fixation in fan content I consumed haha. I was absolutely obsessed when it came out. Hancock my beloved. I drew fanart, made OCs, read fics and fan comics. and even wrote a short fic about my own OCs. Over time though the hyperfixation slowly died and it just faded from my adoration.
I like playing Critter Bay, Backrooms [REDACTED], Deadly Delivery, [SPREAD THE LOVE] Grace, Pressure, and numerous tycoons on Roblox (I have an entire Pressure AU for Sonic lmao).
Planet Coaster/Zoo, Minecraft, Stardew Valley, and Harvest Moon ToT are all games I enjoy playing when I want to relax. Very calming, especially Stardew Valley with its lovely music.
Recently though, I have gotten like, way into Warframe. I am still new though (my partner calls me a baby Tenno?) and not very good yet. I only just accomplished this a day or two ago.
I've never been a huge fan of multiplayer games like this because I am really really bad at them and get nervous about my teammates getting mad at my failure haha. But, being able to play solo, I have actually started to really enjoy the game and it is really really fun. My partner has been helping me when I need it (he's been playing since 2014 and has over 2k hours in game 😵💫). Needless to say he is quite excited that I've shown an interest in the game lol. But yeah I saw the sneak peak of Follie and instantly loved her and decided I needed to play that character. A frame that's an artist and has my body type? That's a no brainer haha. She is precious.
Uh yeah that's all I can think of right now. Hopefully this answer was satisfactory ☺️
