Hi you said you don't give song recs anymore but I wasn't sure if this comes under that if it does I'm sorry you don't have to bother with this. I was just wondering about what you thought about singing don't rain on my parade for an audition? Sorry if this is a song Rec and I've made a mistake!

Don’t Rain on My Parade is usually on the do-not-sing list for most people.  It’s actually because it’s both overdone and it’s one of Streisand’s signature songs.  That means that when they hear it, they will inevitably be comparing you to a very iconic performance that you don’t really want to be put up against.  It’s, of course, a lovely song, but I would stay away from it!

What musicals are not good for professional auditions and why?

Well, I answer your second question first.  These musicals are generally not acceptable at professional auditions because they are overdone to death.  I tell a story quite often about going to an audition for The MUNY, and there were 900 girls there.  It was an audition for Les Mis, where Hugh Panaro was playing Valjean, and I was sitting there waiting to go in, and the musical director comes out, quite unhappy, and goes, "If you're planning on singing Defying Gravity for this audition, leave now.  Think about the musical you're audition for.  Seriously."  That doesn't mean you can't land a role on an overdone song from an overdone musical. It's just that the director is far more likely to tune out of your audition if it's the fifth time they've heard something from Phantom that day.  So here are the big five I'd say:

Phantom of the Opera

Les Mis

Wicked

Thoroughly Modern Millie

Anything Disney

Secondarily, things like Chicago, RENT, She Loves Me, Hairspray, Secret Garden, Grease, Anything Goes...If high schools perform the show a lot, it's more likely to be on this list.  Again, this doesn't mean you absolutely can't sing songs from these shows, it's just more likely that they're sung to death.

Hey, is there anyway you could summarise what the hell is happening in the Sherlock fandom? What is or isn't photoshopped?

it's just that the new promo pic looks photoshopped, it's not like a huge manip it's just that they (or at least benedict) was cut-and-pasted onto the pic. arwel admitted that he tweaked it, all this was supposed to be was proof that this fandom is overly observant no one was really accusing anyone of it being fake or anything (i hope/think?) and it got a little blown out of proportion by some people. moving on!

11: Who is your favourite female character from a Disney movie and why?

I think Nani from Lilo and Stitch because she was really young and went through a whole lot of crap and still managed to raise Lilo and she cared for her so much and she never made Lilo feel like anything was her fault and omg I cry at Lilo and Stich every time

12: Who is your favourite male character from a Disney movie and why?

I think that Kristoff is adorable and if he were a real guy I would date the frik out of him 

13: If you could decide the personality and physical features of the next disney princess, how would you make them and why?

I feel like Disney has been trying to get away from the 'constantly graceful and beautiful' princess (see: awkward Anna) but for the next one (probably Moana) think that she should be really sarcastic and not try to please everyone? I think she should prioritise herself and her friends and be fiercely loyal, but with a bit of a hot head sometimes. 

As for physicality, I don't mind much. A chubby princess would be great, but my main concern for Moana is that they're not racist or appropriative or anything
