I Just Want a Fire Pit (Is That Too Much to Ask?)

There’s something about a fire pit that feels essential. Maybe it’s the primal urge to stare into flames, or maybe it’s just an excuse to eat s’mores in October. Either way, I’ve decided: I need one.

The problem? My backyard is… uneven. Like, “trip hazard” uneven. So before I can even think about cozy fireside chats, I need to level things out. Ideas or Takeaways I’m thinking a circular stone pit, surrounded by a semi-circle bench built from the same stone, tucked under a mature tree. Add uplightings, a gravel floor, and a couple of planters for color. Safe, contained, cozy.
