I Just Want a Fire Pit (Is That Too Much to Ask?)
There’s something about a fire pit that feels essential. Maybe it’s the primal urge to stare into flames, or maybe it’s just an excuse to eat s’mores in October. Either way, I’ve decided: I need one.
The problem? My backyard is… uneven. Like, “trip hazard” uneven. So before I can even think about cozy fireside chats, I need to level things out. Cue my deep dive into hardscaping, which led me to Woodbine Contracting’s main site (here). Their portfolio had exactly what I was picturing—a simple, circular pit set into a paved area, surrounded by Adirondack chairs. No frills, just functionality.
What I loved was seeing local projects. It’s one thing to dream about a fire pit; it’s another to see one that exists in a Wall, NJ, backyard, surviving actual winters. Now I’m measuring my yard, debating gas vs. wood-burning, and wondering if I can convince my partner that this is a necessity, not a luxury.
