Day 16 - Our first caterpillar is HUGE, and very active. They were exploring a lot and not eating much so we think they are getting ready to find a place to pupae. So we added a stick they we hope they will find suitable. Caterpillar #2 is still small but seems to be doing well enough. And when we bright in fresh milkweed plants for our guests we found another monarch eggs, so we set that aside as well. I’m still not seeing any caterpillars or severely eaten leaves in out garden so I can only assume they getting eaten but something. We’ll raise as many as we can in the safety of our home and release them when they’re grown. https://www.instagram.com/p/CSlfdzCrBWD/?utm_medium=tumblr

The volunteer Russian mammoth sunflowers are as tall as I can remember this year. Out of pure, blind luck, I planted cucumbers right in front of the sunflowers and the vines have grown all the way to the top. Which means, for the first time ever, I might have to use a ladder to pick cucumbers this week. #GardenLife #UnexpectedNature #BackyardScience https://www.instagram.com/p/CSVQncdFbK6/?utm_medium=tumblr
I made a YouTube video, it is an experiment on the effectiveness of mask and are they hard to breath in (i.e. do they suffocate you). The obvious happen. You can find the video here: https://youtu.be/ZRwwFgejS3g feel free to share. #disanddatmedia #video #youtube #experiment #backyardscience #simplescience #mask #masks #covid_19 #covid (at Edmonton, Alberta) https://www.instagram.com/p/CLU-ayXlQu3/?igshid=t1r3vc062g3b
