I freelance teaching ESL. Today, the company I contract with deleted the discussion channel that is reserved for teachers only, telling us that it would streamline things by having us only communicate with a superior rather than our fellow teachers.

Idk if I’m contractually entitled to have a water-cooler with my fellow contractors, but it sure does feel isolating not having coworkers to discuss things with. And it sure does feel greasy knowing I’m working for the kind of company that treats its people this way, freelance or not.
