If i were president deadass here are the things i would introduce; (Note; I am anarcho communist so truly this would just be the final step before we transition into socialism and then lastly communism)
Tie federal transportation and infrastructure funding to cities loosening single family only zoning and mixed use restrictions, so corner stores, cafes, and walkable blocks can legally exist again
Fund public libraries, parks, rec centers, and community centers directly, duh? These are some of the last truly free, no-purchase-required third spaces left, and they've been defunded for way too long. Just places where you can exist without needing to buy things, basically, like skate parks and music venues.
Reinvest in public transit so being back before the streetlights turn on is possible again!! You can't have unsupervised children in most car-dependent suburbs built after 2000. And just in general i think we need more busses and trains.
Cap or heavily tax corporate/institutional single family home buying, which is one of the reasons housing prices gone up and why hollowed out 'starter-home' ownership even exists in the first place. Wall street private equity firms, FUCK YOU!! And fuck you too, hedge funds.
Ban the construction of generic corporate beige ass strip malls and what is essentially luxury glass boxes. Rewrite federal zoning guidelines to incentivize walkable, regional architecture that prioritizes green space, front porches, and central plazas. I NEED WATER FOUNTAINS PEOPLE. And overall it would help the environment to have more shade from tree's and greens. Something to go hand in hand with this would be higher pay for people who do horticulture for jobs that take care of the public grass you see on the sides of roads.
Outlaw the criminalization of homelessness. Replace punitive measures with immediate "Housing First" initiatives, providing unconditional shelter, mental healthcare, and stability. You want to know why america has so many 'criminals' now? It's beacause they steal for money, food, diapers, baby formula, and even from warehouses that sell copper to re-sell back to others. Not just out of the 'hatred of their own heart', but because they're people in need just like you & me.
Implement a baseline financial safety net to ensure no one starves or faces homelessness because they cannot find a traditional 9-to-5 job. AKA; UBI.
Direct federal hiring toward rebuilding America's crumbling infrastructure, state parks, and public arts programs. If the private market refuses to hire Gen Z, the government will always have open slots to hire you to rebuild the country at a thriving wage, not just a liveable one.
Regulate the AI driven applicant tracking systems (ATS) that automatically ghost job seekers, forcing companies to return to human centric hiring.
Establish strict federal ownership over personal data. Ban corporations from tracking, selling, and profitizing your digital footprint, treating your privacy as an absolute right. That includes none of that 'flock camera' BS, unless we know for sure the government is using it to track down kidnappers and traffickers, but that'd be difficult if the government is full of people who do that shit themselves, so really i guess we'd have to sort out some policies and laws for the govt too.
Penalize corporations that rely on hyper consumerism and disposable goods. Reward companies that make durable, repairable products, slowing down the exhausting cycle of hyper trends which we all know and loathe so very much.
Order the immediate, unredacted release of all historically significant archives, including the complete Epstein files, JFK files, and legacy documents regarding domestic civilian testing (such as MKUltra and Operation Sea Spray and whatever other bs they hide under the covers)
Establish a fully independent, civilian led federal task force to review all newly unredacted files, with the strict mandate to indict, arrest, and prosecute any public official, celebrity, or billionaire implicated in systemic crimes or human trafficking, regardless of their status. End funding for proxy wars and unilateral regime change operations overseas, shifting the foreign policy focus to diplomacy, global climate initiatives, and humanitarian aid because truly we should be encouraging insurrectionism within the people, not 'delivering freedom' for them if we're not ACTUALLY delivering freedom but just putting them under new management.
Conduct a full, independent forensic audit of the Pentagon and intelligence agencies to divert hundreds of billions of dollars from the bloated defense budget directly into domestic programs such as public education, healthcare, infrastructure, and local community revitalization. We've got enough soldiers as is and fought many wars, we don't need more new weapons when we could just be making peace.
Repeal the invasive components of the Patriot Act and subsequent surveillance laws to shut down illegal mass data harvesting programs run by agencies like the NSA, effectively making it a federal crime for the government to spy on citizens without an explicit, individualized warrant, like if they're a predator or something.

If a corporation or billionaire is found to have used offshore shell companies to hide wealth or evade domestic taxes, freeze their domestic assets immediately. Seize the hidden funds, real estate, and corporate assets, and redirect that money directly into funding public goods like universal healthcare, student debt relief, and public housing.
Any corporation found guilty of using offshore networks to intentionally launder money, dodge sanctions, or hide criminal proceeds will have its corporate charter permanently revoked. The government will seize their domestic infrastructure and convert it into public utilities or worker-owned cooperatives.

Force every company operating or holding assets in the United States to register the true, living human being who benefits from it (the "ultimate beneficial owner") in a public, easily searchable national registry. Being dragged into the Zara store by my mom. She points to a dress on a hanger and asks what I think about it, she thinks maybe she should buy it for me. I don't know mom? How do you feel about it? The price tag says 80€. You can see, even without your glasses, that both side seams have their ends hanging loose, almost touching the disgusting floor in this building. You can see the cash register through the gap in the shoulder seam that is actively coming apart right in front of us right now. The dress is sewn from the cheapest, thinnest, most fragile possible synthetic fabric, and the gigantic, gold painted metal buttons are ripping it apart with their sheer weight, right in front of us, here in the store. The design is mediocre, nothing about the dress is interesting or appealing. I'm pretty sure I saw practically the same dress at H&M. This is because both the 80€ Zara dress and the 20€ H&M dress were most likely made in the same factory in Bangladesh. The dress looks like something I could have made in sewing class in 5th grade, only if I couldn't follow the instructions, and that is because it was most likely made by a child of about that age, who may also be fucking illiterate. Ignoring the horrors of child labour, do you think it's fair to you and me that Zara is trying to sell us this heap of plastic garbage loosely stitched together by someone who was paid less than a dollar per day, for 80 fucking euros? Let's head to the thrift store.

Fuck doordash
I was informed yesterday at my job that they were no longer hiring drivers which would mean that I would be the only driver at my work place, which means I'm going to be given way too much work for one person.
The reason they are no longer hiring drivers is because they are sending delivery orders to doordash.
I used to work doordash. I was underpaid and dealt with the worst customers.
For those that don't know, the way doordash's business model works is that they do a sort of reverse auction. They start an order at $2 plus tip. Then they add money if the order is not being accepted until someone accepts the order. So if someone tips $5, then the order will start at $7 and get accepted much faster than if there is no tip and the company doesn't have to put more money into base pay
Which means that they are using customer tips to subsidize what they should be paying their workers.
The flimsy legal framework this works on is that doordash drivers are considered "independent contractors" and each order is considered a new contract. So if someone accepts an order that has them drive 10 miles for only $5, well that's not doordash's problem, you accepted the order after all
But also, doordash driver's have metrics that they have to follow to get handed better orders. If you keep your acceptance rate high enough, you will get better orders, but in order to do that, you need to accept all the bad orders as well. This strategy keeps the amount that doordash has to pay the driver low
On the customer's end it's also predatory. There is a thing called a "driver's fee" that gives the appearance of going to the driver. The driver does not see it. Instead that money goes into a slush fund that the company uses for various things, including bribing politicians
Because the driver's are considered "independent contractors" doordash is not liable for anything the driver does. So if a driver steals an order, well then the place you ordered from just remakes the order. Doordash does little to vet drivers which makes the job worse for those who are honest. Customers were much more suspicious of me as a doordash driver than they are now that I work with an actual restaurant, which meant I was treated worse and tipped badly. I was often blamed for things completely out of my control.
This company is predatory and I don't care if it's convenient, find some other way to get your food. I understand that food delivery might be important to disabled people, but doordash is not the answer. They are likely violating numerous labor laws and are pouring money into politics. Doordash was a big supporter of trump and will continue to support any corrupt politician who will support laws that allow them to continue to mistreat their workers and customers and further their predatory business model
