I extend a giant middle finger to the people behind the control scheme of super mario odyssey. Whoever thought that ground pound, roll, AND long jump should all involve pressing the ZL button has a special place reserved in hell for them.
Darkside’s Breakdown road is basically impossible when the game decides randomly that instead of long jumping you should ground pound instead. Or that you held down ZL for just long enough to randomly start rolling. Or hell, someones ZL doesn’t even acknowledge it got pressed and mario jumps normally like a complete moron.
If you’re gonna have late game stages that rely on precision jumping, for the love of fucking god do not have so many VASTLY DIFFERENT CONTROLS rely on the pressing of the same two goddamn buttons but in ‘different’ ways.
I didn’t need to longjump so often before or in so strict circumstances so of course I never noticed this issue until Nintendo decided to bring out the ‘Nintendo hard’ crap end game.
