One of the things I try desperately to avoid over at Hipster, please! is year-end best of countdowns. They just seem... I dunno, cliché somehow. And yet as I was getting the kids ready for school this AM, reflecting back on all the amazing releases already available from the first 3/4 of 2011, I couldn't help but think that maybe I'm gonna change my tune come December.

This, of course, got me thinking back on my favorites from years past, and I remembered that what I consider the best song of 2009 was actually an unfinished demo. It's a joint from Metamystiks Inc. and Baddd Spellah originally available on Navi's The Grayscale Trailer Mixtape.
