The Silence: Quite incredible how you can’t be sued for this flagrant plagiarism. Review: I was genuinely quite excited halfway through the movie to be able to review such an awful film as it’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to be so scathing. The lack of imagination and general effort in making this film astounds me. ‘A Quiet Place’ was one of my favourite films of 2018 and was better in every conceivable way. I thought ‘Birdbox’ was bad but this was just on a whole new world of crap! Stanley Tucci, who I truly think is a brilliant actor, was really quite dreadful. At no point did he seem afraid or worried or even elated throughout what should have been the peaks and troughs of this film. At the beginning it seemed like he couldn’t be bothered to learn sign language for the film and just conversed normally with his deaf daughter when everyone else used sign. Lazy. The noise level to which the stupid bat things would find and kill you was never properly established so sometimes people spoke and they were fine and others a footstep would get you killed. This made it lose the stakes of any part of the film that could be tense and ........ I could go on and on but for further rantings you’ll have to listen to our Podcast @soundcloud @the_reel_easy where @rusty99 and I @chris_s_whitmore will tear this film a new one at a later date. So keep you ears peeled for that and I’ll let you know when it’s out, it’ll be a riot!! Overall I’d give this film A RATING OF 3.2/10.
