“That’s sweet and all, but I would rather die than open up to a person so...” Mercury shrugged his shoulders. He really didn’t know what else to say. Emerald was the one that was good in social situations. He was a half feral child from the woods.
“How about we eat lunch in silence, and you can go back to the heiress and say you tried to crack me with your charm but it didn’t work?”
Confrontations // Accepting
@badluckqrow asked: “ hey— look at me. you can talk to me. ” (from Qrow to Tai maybe?)
Tai stared down at the seemingly never-ending pile of laundry that he needed to do. Couple that with making sure the girls were fed and clothed (which was hard, when the laundry needed to be done yet again), along with keeping them entertained while he took care of everything else around the house, got groceries (again, to make sure they were fed), along with everything else on his very long to-do list….., and he could feel himself sliding back to a very dark place, a place he didn't want to be. He had his girls to take care of….; he couldn't afford to let himself get that bad again.
The blonde looked up at Qrow's voice, a sheet clutched in his hands, close to breaking down yet again. Qrow's tone was gentle, as though he was talking to an easily spooked animal, and right now, Tai had to say that it would have been an apt comparison.
"I can't do this," he said, and his voice broke on the last word. "I don't know how to do this on my own." He could barely take care of himself right now, let alone the girls. How could he be expected to do this by himself, after everything that had happened?
Raven had left him, and Summer……, well, Summer was gone. And part of him was broken by those facts. Summer had helped keep himself together after Raven had left, but now he was just…..on his own, taking care of two little girls. And he didn't know how he was going to manage.

"Yeah.... It seems to happend a lot to us too..."
It was actually starting to scare the silver-eyed with how often this group would just be out to just relax and enjoy themselves, and then almost immediately things got real.
❛ when will it stop? ❜ (from Yang)
“ oh , my honeybee . . . ” summer takes yangs in her arms , pressing a kiss to her forehead . “ soon , i promise . this will all be over soon . i won’t let anything bad happen to you . ”

Little Red was trying to compliment her, she's almost sure of it. It's just a shame that it somehow manages to sound so much like an insult all at once: perhaps she wasn't as bad as people liked to say, but that didn't change the fact that people were still saying all of those things.
They weren't unearned, of course. Neo has no such delusions as to think that joining up with these kids was enough to undo all the harm she had done. The Fall of Beacon, stealing the Relic of Knowledge and handing it over to Cinder, not to mention everything that had happened before she even knew the name Cinder Fall.
After a moment of staring blankly at the younger girl, both her hands lift in a shrug, one hand lifting while the other lowered, repeating the motion twice. A sort of "yes and no" gesture. She certainly didn't perceive herself as evil, but good? That still seemed like something of a pipe dream.

She's been hanging around where the Beacon kids have been training; not necessarily trying to hover, but DESPERATELY wanting to see them fighting for herself. They've improved a lot since the fights she got to see from the Vytal Festival. Still, Atlas training regiments can get anyone down after a while -- so when she sees one of the kids stepping away from the training room, she can't help but perk up.
"If'n Ebi's training style ain't cuttin' it, y'could always try what I call the rainy day program." There's a cheeky little grin on the technician's face, before holding a set of VR goggles up on one finger. "Digital training. Good fer the mental, when the physical's gotten a bit much."
Yes, she means video games. What else? "Yer... Jaune, right? Team JNPR's leader. A Vale native, a descendant of great fighters... an' if I remember right, her name is... Crocea Mors? Am I sayin' that right?"

It was a chilling sensation, the moment that her semblance lost its hold on someone. The first had been when Summer... vanished. Try as she might, Raven couldn't follow after her. That invisible thread that had bound their souls together had been severed. The second, when Yang had fallen. Of course, Raven hadn't known the specifics: just that on the day that Atlas fell from the sky, the connection she had to her daughter had been cut.
So imagine her surprise when the connection returned. Should she try, Raven never would have been able to explain how she knew, what it was. Just a sensation in her aura, some innate knowledge. Yang was alive. So she followed that thread, frail and thin as it might have been, finding her way to the desert of Vacuo. Not a place she tended to wander.
Replacing her mask to conceal her identity ( though for what purpose, she couldn't truly say ) she began to search. Somewhere, hidden away amidst the sands, was her daughter.
