One of the most difficult things to do on this expedition is to constantly leave the people I become friends with on the road.

It literally feels like you are ripping out your own heart and cutting the veins of connection with scissors so you can keep moving on the road. It’s painful and heart wrenching to sever the physical bonds of community I create.

I had the privilege of being welcomed at Centenary and Banteer Badminton and playing at these wonderful clubs. They are so friendly, welcoming and had an open gym format versus a reserved court system like most of mainland Europe. Good news for a solo traveling player like me.

I am sad to leave, but happy to have shared so many good games and laughs. I gave you guys everything I had.

Guess which one of them hit me with the bird during our games. (Hint: Literally all of them 😹)

Hardst groeiende club in regio?

De laatste jaren hebben veel clubs in alle sporten harde klappen moet incasseren over de terugloop van het ledenaantal, dit vooral met de oorzaak die Corona heet. Binnen mijn eigen sport badminton zie ik nog steeds clubs watertrappelen om het hoofd boven water te houden. Maar zou ik dan toch bij de hardst groeiende club in de regio terecht zijn gekomen? Bespanklemmen

Er zijn wel wat manieren om een racket te bespannen, waarbij de meeste wegen ook naar Rome zullen leiden. Zo ook het gebruik van bespanklemmen, waarbij de een losse bespanklemmen gebruikt en de andere bespanner zweert bij vaste bespanklemmen.
