I dont know the lore/physiology behind mimics, too lazy to look it up and thought it was too good to pass up.

Here is my idea for a baby mimic.

It looks like a coin purse. Teeth.

Reach inside, it bites off a finger and scurries off. It will repeat this process, grtting larger and larger, bitting off larger digits/appendages/limbs until it gains enough caloric surpluss to retreat to a deep dark corner whaere it can form a chysalis and evolve into the shape of a "larger storage container" like a chest.

By this logic, should one gain enough caloric value and escape the dungeon, it could make another chysalis and take on the shape of a cabin, well, doorway, etc.

I'll try to write up some stats if anyone is interested.
