Yesterday was a complete and utter write-off. I had one of those headaches that, no matter how many pills I threw at it, it wouldn’t go away.
I’ve tried to make up for not doing anything yesterday. On top of the things that are expected of me as an honest to god responsible adult, I got round to cleaning up the guitar. My dad bought it for me fifteen years ago and I didn’t look after it for a long time. It’s battered and bruised and was covered in stickers that were falling apart. It looked a little too grunge.
I worked at it for about two hours, cleaning out all of the grooves, the fret board, peeling off stickers and the annoying sticky bits that remain afterwards (WD40 works wonders for that!) and was left with this. I couldn’t pull myself to get rid of the DRM sticker. The original tuner parts are looonnngggg gone, so I plan on buying a new set and there’s a loose cable at the jack that makes itself known if you happen to move the guitar while playing, which shouldn’t be too much of an issue to sort.
On top of that, I saw a kickstarter last year for a kit that you could attach to the guitar that would allow you to on the fly apply various synth effects while playing, which I’ve been trying to track down for the last few hours but can’t find. If I’m ever going to record anything, I don’t want to do a lot of editing after recording, would like the sound to sound as close to as I’m playing as possible. I’m really bad for over editing and trying to make something sound unnatural sounding.
Looking forward to getting it strung up this week. \m/ \m/
