When Sebastian mentions taking “extreme measures” and putting Ciel’s body into his own to protect him, I’ve always wondered how that was supposed to work. Since we never see it happen, what do you think his plan really was?
On a physical level, how do you think Sebastian intended to do that? What would “putting Ciel’s body into his own” actually involve? And how could he continue making choices and carrying out his revenge while trapped inside a demon?
Do you think this was meant as a temporary last resort, or did Sebastian truly believe Ciel’s will would be enough to endure it?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.
Hello!!
I'm so sorry that it took me so long to answer. I was busy during the holidays and I also had to do some research on this topic, including checking several different manga versions/translations.
I've been thinking about this for weeks now and I've thought out several different interpretations of this scene.
Let's start with the most simple one.
It's this... Literally this...
Sebastian would use his shadow/his own body and wrap it around Ciel, much like a cloak. It is the simplest explanation.
But nothing in Kuro is ever that simple...
Note how Sebas didn't say that he'd protect Ciel from disease, but from death by disease.
This tells me that demons cannot prevent illness. He cannot stop Ciel from getting sick. But he can (using extreme measures) stop Ciel from dying from the said illness.
Let's take Ciel's asthma as an example. Say, Ciel got sick and his asthma flared up, badly enough that he was actually dying, how would taking Ciel into the demon's body keep him alive?
I thought about this for far longer than I'd like to admit, and I came up with a theory.
We've seen how Sebastian can regenerate and heal within seconds. His body is not really a 'body' and more like a... blob? Which means that his 'body' is 'flexible'. Our boy is not only gender-fluid, he's pretty much everything-fluid.
It can shape itself into anything and if/when he got hurt (stabbed or shot), the knife/bullet did not penetrate his blobby body. Instead, the blob swallows the invading objects. Much like stabbing a giant slime, but the slime is alive (and will stab you back).
This doesn't work with Death Scythe because when Seb was cut by a Death Scythe, the scythe actualy cut through his blob. The flesh (blob) yielded at first, but eventually, it tears due to the special nature of the weapon.
If Ciel was dying from asthma, Sebas would 'swallow' him whole and create such an emvironment for him to heal while at the same time, providing the necessary life support for him.
Seb didn't say that he was going to protect Ciel from the disease itself, but from the elements. In another word, he cannot heal Ciel. What he can do is to use the regenerative nature of his own body to nurture him back to health, or at least until he wasn't dying anymore.
How would that work?
I think one of the best way to illustrate this is by looking at another famous human & blob relationship; Venom & Eddie from Marvel.
If you're familiar with the franchise, great!
If not, then basically the human (Eddie) and the blob alien (Venom) kind of fused their bodies together in a symbiosis parasitic relationship.
But since Sebas wasn't an alien (not that we know of anyways), then I'm just going to call this a mutual possession.
You've heard of demon possession, where the demon possessed a human body. This is the opposite of that, sort of.
In this scenario, Ciel is the one who's invading Sebastian's body. But Sebastian also plays a very active role by acting as Ciel's personal life support pod. He might be inserting some of his blob thing into Ciel to try and 'fix' him from the inside, while keeping him covered and shielded from the elements.
Essentially, they will become one. One body, two minds, two souls. Unlike the more classic demon possession, Ciel is still able to think for himself and order Sebastian around. That way, Ciel can still carry out his revenge while still being well protected from, well, everything aside from death scythe.
Is it a temporary thing?
Depends on how bad Ciel's condition is. Is he truly dying? Then yes, it has to be a permanent solution. But if his body is able to heal on its own outside of Sebastian, then the demon would spit him out and let his body heal naturally.
I know that I went off the rail with this one, but I think this could be one of the explanations of what's going to happen with this 'extreme measures' thingy. I hope I haven't made things worse or more confusing for you.
Thank you for the ask and again, my apologies for taking forever to answer.
About your post about Tanaka, let me say i agree with everything you said.
I have a feeling he's getting killed at some point and right before his last breath he's gonna reavel something EXTREMELY CRUCIAL that will allow us to, if not solve the whole puzzle, to be very close to the solution.
And if not directly, we'll see it in his cinematic records.
I agree! He must've seen something that night, although again, I'm not sure why he's never divulged that information to O!Ciel.
The only reason I could think of is because the fire and the attack were related to R!Ciel somehow and he didn't want to 'ruin' O's memory of his brother.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and I'm so sorry that it has taken me ages to reply.
What are your thoughts on ciel getting romantic or freaky with jermey!Bastian? There's almost no content of those two:P
Hello! Sorry it took me so long to answer!
I think they got a little freaky when they were alone under the guise of "Jeremy needed to change his wet clothes" because how did he end up looking exactly the same when he was supposed to change into Sebas' clothes??
And after everyone has left, if Arthur hadn't come back, who knows what those two were going to do 😉
Do you have any good fic recs? I went through my TBR and need more recommendations! Thank you!
Hello!
My all time favourite is Devilish Impulses. It's long and spans over decades that explored Sebaciel's relationship over the years. A great AU with some Ciel/Lizzy.
I also love To the End of Everything. Lots of supernatural elements and an amazing plot. The author is working on a sequel right now.
As for modern AU and an inspiration for one of my own fics, The Devil's Canvas is a good one! It has action, angst, fluff, and lots and lots of smut. Like, seriously, they do it like rabbits here. Mentioned SebaClaude.
Facilis Descensus Averno is a modern AU Omegaverse Sebaciel. But this one is written in 1st person POV (Sebastian's), so just be aware of that.
Last but not least, 痛みごと君委ねましょう is a pretty good one. It has a very unique concept, imo, and it's worth the read.
You can find some other recommendations in my bookmark page on AO3 here, and of course, I'd recommend my own works if you haven't read them 😁😉
I was wondering in your demon wizard series which I love, does Cael now as a demon have strength similar to Sebastian?
Hello!
No, not really...
As a demon, Ciel is so much stronger & faster than humans, and in terms of his magic, he's also much more powerful - and he will get even better with time. But he's nowhere near Sebastian's level of strength, speed, and power.
question: when sebaciel mutually pines for each other, how do u imagine each of them feel like and what would they do about it?
Hello! Sorry it took me a while to reply!
Well, Ciel would be... ashamed at first. Unfortunately, he was raised in a society where homosexuality is deemed as taboo and immoral. I think he's going to struggle to come to terms with his own feelings, but in the end, he'd decide that he has never been one to follow the rules, why start now?
As for Sebastian, well... he doesn't have a moral compass, at least, not like humans. He doesn't belong to any society, so he's not bound by any social norms. However, it would take him by surprise and at first, he wouldn't acknowledge it, you know, because demons don't have emotions and all (although he has shown so many emotions throughout the manga). Moreover, Ciel is supposed to be his meal, so he'd be conflicted. One wasn't supposed to fall in love with a piece of roasted chicken leg, after all, no matter how beautifully cooked it is (I don't judge though).
Eventually though, he'd decide that screw those things about meals and demons and feelings. He's his own person and he can feel however he wanted to feel for whoever he wanted to. He'd start showing some form of affection, his way. His mockery would turn into teasing remarks, he'd give Ciel some sweets, he'd make sure Ciel is warm and well-fed, little things like that. But he'd double his efforts when he realised that Ciel also has feelings for him.
I didn't know your askbox was open! As a palate cleanser from that anti here's are sebaciel questions:
Who do you think is more affectionate between them? How does this affection manifest and how does the other react?
I love your posts :D !!!

Hello!!
Definitely Sebastian 😁
Ciel was a teenager and shy and he was raised in a society where showing affection wasn't common.
Sebastian, on the other hand, had no shame. He was a demon, after all, so he wasn't bound by some human rules or moral compass. Ciel was his and he wasn't going to let some human society stop him from expressing his desire.
How would he show it? Well, I imagine, there would be 'stages'.
At first, he showed it by being possessive and protective of Ciel because he was a demon and that's how they 'guard' what was theirs.
But then, as their relationship developed, he learned how to show his affection in other ways, such as putting a bunch of flowers in Ciel's room, taking him stargazing on the manor's rooftop, inprompttu picnic...
And he learned that from Ciel. He learned how to show his affection in human's, or rather, in Ciel's way from the very object of his affection.
At first, Ciel would blush and dismiss Sebastian's... attempts at romance, calling him an idiot. Not because he disliked it, but because he was shy. He was still a teenager, after all. But at the end, he'd respond with whispered 'I love you' that's so soft because those words are for Sebastian's ears only.
But as he grew older, Ciel would grow bolder. He'd be less shy and more importantly, he'd become more and more possessive of Sebastian because he had learned how to love a demon - from a demon.
So... I think they both will meet each other in the middle.
The ask in question. Thank you so much for the ask! Now I can confidently say that I've made a name for myself in the fandom 😊
And just so you know, I'm actually into older men, like a hot 1,000 years old demon. Not that it's any of anyone else's (most especially your) business.
Just out of curiosity, why Goku? What has he done to deserve this?
