Can we please talk about how Claire Stanfield from Baccano! is the best boyfriend ever?

Sure, he may be a psychopathic assassin who is coated in blood for most of the anime, but then there’s the point where he falls in love with Chane Laforet. I mean, he does propose to her moments after the classic trope of “love at first sight”, which is a little extreme. However, I’d like to list the following things:

1. He said that, if Chane didn’t wanna marry him, he would be fine with being just friends.

2. He’s mentioned that he’s done this before (falling in love and proposing on sight), but when he’s rejected, he simply moves on.

3. He actually went to someone (a woman, no less) to ask for advice on how to confess his love for Chane (which is really sweet, in my opinion).

Come on, guys! How low can it be where an assassin with sociopathic tendencies and solipsistic beliefs is a better boyfriend/person than you?
