After introductions, the two stood awkwardly, looking anywhere in the room besides each other. The silence was deafening even for the crew behind the cameras.
Ari contemplated whether or not to take the lead for the show, although she doubts it would make it less awkward.
Thankfully, the producer gave them a note card with instructions written inside. Wherein the two read the card together with Ari reading the descriptions out loud.
'First decide on which rooms you'll take. Once you've settled in, your first mission together will be getting to know each other through challenging games.'
"Oh? We get to choose our rooms?" Heeseung asks excitedly, breaking the awkward tension in the air. "How would you like to decide this, Ari?"
"Shall we check the rooms upstairs first and then decide with 'rock, paper, scissors,?" Ari gestures, remembering how Heeseung often plays when it comes to making decisions.
"That's not bad, okay let's go."
In agreement, the two turned their heels and began to walk up the stairs with Heeseung leading them.
At the top of the stairs came across three bedroom doors. The first door on the left had a balcony overlooking the backyard view. The bedroom was decorated in cozy, warm tone colors while the other bedroom across the hall had more neutral dark tones but still gave its cozy effect. Each room had enough space to fit a two-seater sofa, a desk area, and a built-in tv on the wall.
After exploring the rooms together, the two began to compete with each other to decide who would pick their rooms first in the hallway.
"Ahh, I'm so bad at games. Especially rock, paper, scissors." Ari cried out, mentally preparing herself for the game.
"It's all by luck! Come on, Ari." Heeseung chuckles, trying to enlighten her mood.
With a hesitant look, Ari nodded defeatedly. "Okay, let's get this over with. I want that room."
“Which room?”
“The one with the bal- wait you’re not trying to steal it right??” Ari realizes halfway, her eyes narrowed on Heeseung as he tried to stifle a laugh.
“What? No! I would never do such thing. Who do you take me for?”
“Lee Heeseung, I know you.”
“What do you mean? Besides, it’s technically not stealing if you didn’t claim it yet-“
“Yah!”
“I’m just kidding! I swear-“ Heeseung laughs at Ari’s reaction. “It’s so fun messing with you.”
“Oh shush, let’s settle this once and for all,” she huffs as they finally start the game.
“Rock.”
“Paper.”
“Scissors-“
“…”
“YESS!! LETS GOOO WOOOHOO”
“…”
The camera pans to Heeseung standing in the hallway in disbelief as Ari jumps in joy, her hand formed in a ‘rock’ as Heeseung’s was ‘scissors’.
“There’s no way,” Heeseung mutters, staring at his hand then towards Ari, “She actually beat me??”
“FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE IM A WINNER,” Ari cheerfully exclaims.
“I need a rematch, Ari!” Heeseung groans, “C’mere!”
“Nuh-uh. Snooze you lose, loser,” Ari jokes.
Ari raises her hand, faced one of the hallway cameras and announced, “I, Ari, choose the room with the balcony. Thank you very much.”
“I can’t believe this,” Heeseung groans defeatedly, “That’s the first time she ever won against me too.”
“Won’t be the last either,” Ari pokes her tongue out as she opens her new room and enters, leaving Heeseung in the hallway accepting his defeat.

Ari smiles as she reads the group chat, her members blowing up the notifications early afternoon as she lays back in her seat, releasing a sigh she kept in without realizing it.
She was heading towards the location for her WGM shooting, which isn't too far from the city, a quick forty-five minute drive.
Before leaving the company building, her stylist team were informed that the directors had already set up camera's in the van and all they needed to do was set up her mic, wherein they prepped her in the dressing room and teased Ari in a friendly banter. Ari knew they were trying to ease her tension, giving her words of encouragement before sending her off with big smiles.
Staring out the window, she tries to ease her anxiety, her thoughts beginning to spiral on the 'what ifs'. She wasn't nervous being on her own; this isn't the first time she has done a solo schedule. She was more nervous about having to meet a guy she barely knew and act like a couple in front of the cameras, broadcasting on television.
It's like a blind date but in a fake marriage for the entire world to see.
Before she knows it, Ari began thinking of the worst possible situation that can happen on set.
What if he's rude? Would he even be respectful? Would we even be compatible working together? What would the fans think? The media will go crazy on rumors for sure, barking whatever lie they can make for income.
Ari shook her head, dismissing the negative thoughts swirling around her. Everything will be okay, she encourages herself, I'll do my best despite it like always.
Upon arriving at the location, her manager Kei, one of the SERENITY managers assigned to them, turns the van into the gated lot and glances at Ari through the rear view mirror. "We're here, Ari."
In front of them is a beautiful gated white two-story house, situated beside a lake where you can overlook the scenery privately in the open backyard. The back was wide enough to do sport activities or have a barbecue grill to eat with a group of friends. It was big enough to have a small pool, adorned with pool accessories on the side, such as water guns, donut floats, and a beach volleyball.
Excitement coursed through Ari as Kei parked the van on the lot. She stepped out of the van with Kei, leading her to the building entrance as a staff member greeted them. Her anxiety quickly forgotten as she admired the view.
Lights, cameras, and action!
Ari smiled as she entered the building, whilst greeting the staff team hidden behind the cameras.
On the first floor, the house is designed as an open-concept area furnished with modern decor. The living room with a large flat-screen television on the wall and plush sofas, adjacent to it is a fully equipped kitchen with a counter space in the middle, set with a few high stools to accommodate the dining area and a separate guest restroom. The second floor held two cozy bedrooms, each with their own personal bathrooms. Along with a separate room fully equipped with gym appliances.
Unbeknownst to Ari, a tall silhouette loomed behind her from a distance standing by the entrance door frame.
Heeseung stood with a nervous smile, clearing his throat, making his presence known without startling her.
Ari turned, a soft smile still on her face as she was greeted with a familiar pair of doe eyes and heart shaped smile.
Her eyes faltering for a second, soaking in the pieces together as the man before her is the aforementioned "husband" - her costar.
Fragment memories surfaced through her as she held eye contact. Her eyes softened as she remembered the years they met, became close friends, and broke the barriers of their relationship.
They were close.
They were partners in crime.
Always stood beside each other by the hip.
Guiding each other when the other needed help. Teasing each other during their free time in dance practices. Listening to each other's rants despite having a bantering friendship.
They were two peas in a pod you couldn't separate.
Until one day, the news was announced that a group was making its final line-up debut - a girl group.
And that was when time stopped for Ari and Heeseung.
Ari regained her composure, remembering the cameras were still on, recording every second of every moment and expression.
Heeseung's mind quickly flooded with waves of emotions - excitement, relief of anxiety and confusion.
Warmth begins to bubble in his chest, his eyes showcasing a look of endearment as he admired the girl he once loved in front of him.
No, not once, he never moved on from their mutual break up.
Heeseung continued to harbor feelings for her despite it.
Besides, it's not a crime is it? If anything, Heeseung knew what he was getting into from holding onto the pieces of his heart together.
Heeseung hid his feelings deeply in his heart, with the hopes of restoring their relationship further into their careers.
Despite working in the same company, they merely just acknowledge each other's presence. No more than simple greetings in their encounters.
Perhaps this was a chance of reviving their connection. A chance for them to finally be able to showcase their love now that they're both successful in their careers.
Heeseung smiled, extending his hand in front of him for a handshake, "Hi, my name is Heeseung. It's nice to meet you."
Again, finally.
With a polite smile, Ari grasped his hand a little too long before letting go. His presence, both sending familiar and unfamiliarity of what was once the center of her universe. "Nice to meet you. I'm Ari."

The second recording finished smoothly through the night, despite our little banters in between and a mishap with ingredients. Heeseung and I were baking small pastries together, such as cookies and cupcakes. Luckily enough, they were decent and safe enough to consume.
The upcoming episode was about team building, but is it really when we just sabotage each other? Especially if you're paired with Heeseung. I swear he was quietly giggling with an evil glint in his eye during our session.
Once everything was cleaned up and the cameras turned off, Heeseung and I settled down in the living area. A comfortable silence enveloped us, aside from the audio from the television showcasing this week's music show.
Stifling a yawn, I glance down at my phone. 10:45 P.M.
I didn't notice it was already this late. It's already way past the time I usually do my skin care routine. Should I just take a quick nap before getting ready for bed? Nah, that won't do. I'll actually knock out cold once I do. Maybe–
"Should we order delivery?" Heeseung asked, halting my train of thought.
"We can. Considering we used up all our last energy."
Heeseung chuckled as he glanced in my direction, "Already dozing off, Ari? The night is still young."
"Shut up, Hee. Your sabotages drained my energy tonight." Sending a playful glare to the side, I threw one of the pillows beside me towards him, luckily catching him off guard, which landed on the side of his face.
"Okay, but seriously, did you want me to order our usual?" Heeseung questioned as he scrolled through his phone with one hand, the other rubbing the back of his neck.
I hummed in agreement, lying flat on the sofa, and hugged the pillow closer, "Wake me up when it arrives. I need a power nap."
"Perfect, I'll order two jjamppongs for us then cause I ain't sharing."
Third POV
Ari softly snored, breaths paced even, as slumber took over her.
After completing the order, Heeseung shook his head slightly as she nuzzled the pillow closer for warmth. He stood up from the couch and walked towards his room, pulling one of the throw blankets in his arms, and walked back towards Ari in the living area.
He pulls the small strands away from her face behind her ear, admiring Ari's features before gently placing the blanket on top of her.
The corners of his lip tugged as he stayed in place, resting his hand on her cheek, his thumb mindlessly rubbing in circles. "You still don't know what you do to me, do you?"
