2016 Musings
1. Life is a playground of infinite experiences and people, many of which will seem magical and meaningful to you. None of these things will last, but there will always be more. Change is incessant – feelings go, moments go, people go. None of this is inherently bad, just the ever-flowing, transitory nature of life.
2. Avoid social interactions that leave you feeling tired and “unlike yourself”. Just don’t bother – you know what energizes you, and whether that’s listening to music alone or meeting up with 3 select friends, just do those things. This way, your life will be a whole human experience, instead of a chain of fake interactions.
3. Don’t let anything make you too happy, unless you can cope with the equal amount of sadness that you will feel when it leaves. Obviously don’t avoid all happiness, but be aware of point 1 and be sensible.
4. Just speak your mind, don’t suffer in your own head and then wonder why you find your connections with people unfulfilling. If you’re hiding 50% of your feelings, you will be lonely regardless of who you’re with.
