Arkin, who received an Oscar and a Bafta for his performance in the movie, had a career that spanned seven decades in both screen and stage productions. His sons, Adam, Matthew, and Anthony, confirmed his death in a family statement released on Friday. Describing their father as a uniquely talented force of nature, both as an artist and as a person, the statement expressed the deep love and admiration they had for him. Arkin was not only a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather but also an exceptional artist who left a lasting impact on the entertainment industry.
