I think that in the back of sonic's mind, there's that sense of urgency. somethings wrong. he has to fix it. he has a responsibility. whatever eggman did to him, didnt send him back in time, or "reset" him. it was more like forced body/mind alteration. and sonic is a fighter, and his unconscious brain is fighting back. it just doesnt have the capacity to break through, not when in this state. sonic has the weight of the world on his shoulders but he doesnt know that. his body does. his brain does. but not him.

baghog au. sonic wouldnt consciously recognise eggman, nor would he remember their initial counter (eggman turning him itty bitty), so when he sees eggman next irs like hes meeting an entirely new stranger. its still on fucking sight. sonic still immediately starts messing with him and pissing him off and destroying his shit just for fun

How do you think Tails would react to his big bro Sonic getting turned into a baby hedgehog by Eggman?

I need to know for science reasons

Step 1: freak out

Step 2: stop baby sonic from running off. this step takes a while. baby sonic is very spikey and is not happy about being manhandled. lots of biting and scratching involved

Step 3: put him in a backpack. carry him around in backpack. take him back to the workshop

Step 4: try to keep baby sonic occupied with food and toys. breathe a sigh of relief when baby sonic accepts the food and toys and then starts snuffling around the workshop, curious but no long attempting to escape

Step 5: start researching and looking for a solution. look up from his work after hyperfocusing for 3 hours to find baby sonic has disappeared

Step 6: freak out

Step 7: tear apart the workshop looking for baby sonic. eventually find him alseep in the cockpit of the tornado

Step 8: climb into the tornado and also have a nap. its been a big day and they are both so so tired. curl up around each other just like the old days and pretend everything is okay

okay so for baby au sonic wouldnt have conscious memories of his life, but they left impressions. he still doesnt recognise anyone, or tails workshop, or the tornado, but there's some sort of connection there. he feels safe around them and he's comfortable messing around the workshop or climbing up on the tornado. he doesnt question any of it because, well, hes a baby

Who do you think Tails trusts to watch baby Sonic?

very few people, pretty much limited to knuckles and amy, and even then he wouldn't really truely leave them alone, only if he really needs to. hes very anxious about the whole situation, and knuckles and amy would struggle a bit. tails still knows him best, has known him the longest, and knows how to read him the best. he WOULD be willing to let vanilla help but he's not going to do that to her (looking after baby sonic would be a NIGHTMARE can you imagine. he'd drop sonic off at her place and within five minutes he's somehow managed to track mud EVERYWHERE)
