I have always wanted to bring people to Silago. It has been a struggle to fully explain to them why I am so attached to this place, why I keep talking about this place, and why I keep reposting pictures from years ago. From Cebu, the travel would typically take half a day. All the more reason why it’s hard to bring in friends or workmates. From Manila, it would be costly by plane or it would take 13 (?) hours by bus. Tiring, right? I publicly post videos and pictures of Silago in hopes of attracting more visitors or tourists through social media because I want to share the beauty and serenity this place offers. Like what I say to my friends and relatives (who haven’t been here), “If you need to fully relax and unwind from all the stress in the city, let Silago be your rehab.”. I have also repeatedly talked to my cousins about different plans on how to help boost Silago’s tourism like setting up a backpacker’s hostel soon, or opening a tiki bar and cafe, or offering tour services within and outside Silago. Of course, they have all remained “just plans”. With #BagongSilago, I have grown more eager and excited for what’s gonna happen in the next months and years for my beautiful hometown. I now have more hope for a better Silago. The pictures you see about Silago only gives you a glimpse of how lovely it is. But it’s really different when you experience it firsthand – you’re gonna want to keep visiting. Thank you to my visitors last San Juan for allowing me to show you around Silago. I am happy you loved it here. Puhon napud, you are always welcome here ❤️ Silago, my piece of heaven here on Earth. 🍃🌊 (
