Hey there Fama! Glad to see you!
Hello!
My name is Bahnschrift Dreemurr! Pleased to meet you, How are you today? I am a child of Sans and Asgore Dreemurr, I use They/Them/Theirs pronouns and I am happy to see you! Bahnschrift is open for Asks!
I’m gonna go now and geek out a bit about my favorite typeface in Windows.
Bahnschrift.
In my life I have transitioned from using Arial to Calibri and then a few years back, I found Bahnschrift in my list of fonts in Word and I’m using it ever since.
It was pleasant to look at. Had something familiar. Wasn’t as thin as Arial and the characters were higher than those of Calibri. It was just very easy to read. And that is especially important when you stare at a long text of a fanfic you’re editing.
Anyway... I found out that Microsoft has a page for all it’s bundled fonts. And I looked up Bahnschrift. And so far... it’s the only font with an in-depth article.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/typography/font-list/bahnschrift (For those interested.)
But it cleared up why I always felt it so familiar. It is closely related to the font used on all German road signs, meaning I have grown up with the kind of font. Maybe that’s why I love it or maybe it’s just that I’m a huge nerd that likes Sans Serif fonts like Helvetica.
And I just find it interesting how things in our lives are connected. Why we have certain preferences without realizing it sometimes.
are u simp?-
Simp? For what?
Upon reflection I have decided to change my main animation font from Garamond to Bahnschrift. The Bahnschrift design was specifically optimized for legibility, simplicity, and ease in replication in its design, so for a moving image it will serve its purpose well both in fill and in stroke.
