the focus on fandom things. it has and always will be my favorite thing about tumblr. here I don’t have to be Michelle, daughter of someone or teacher of something. here I can be MJ of jedirey who loves baby yoda very much and I think that’s beautiful asksndnnsdn

okay so this is more of a headcanon for pre-cacw steve but:

despite the fact that he was born more than a century ago and spent over six decades in the ice, steve rogers knows more slang than any other avenger.

it all began after he overheard a teenager say “yolo” for the fifth time in the same day. he didn’t want to bother anyone, but he also didn’t want to be completely behind so...someone had shown him how to use google earlier, so he typed it into the search engine. he clicked on the first result and-

bam. steve rogers had fallen into the world of urban dictionary.

naturally, some of the content on the website was a little shocking to steve’s innocent eyes. but to be perfectly honest, he couldn’t help it? he was curious and wanted to know the lingo. and besides, steve had since forgotten how to use google and he was pretty certain he’d never find his way back to it if he left the website.

for a while, steve kept his newfound knowledge of 21st-century vernacular a secret. whenever he overheard someone use a word he didn’t recognize, he’d make a mental note to look it up later. occasionally, he’d accidentally slip a term into a conversation, earning some weird looks from the other avengers. he never used it openly, though, because no one else did. but it was nice to have a sort of inside joke with himself.

also, au where cap and peter parker actually get to spend some time together, and peter is completely taken aback bc ?? this old man can speak gen z?? wOw
