Here’s a pair of shots that showcase the farmstead’s exterior in “Progress”. I do like how it evokes a rustic vibe while still coming off as Bajoran rather than Earth-like. While I haven’t done a lot of research into it, I am vaguely aware that the concept of single-family farmsteads being a long-term success is more or less an American myth, with it being necessary to be part of a larger community to truly succeed in agriculture. I’m just unsure how aware the writers were of that.
Wrapping up my screencaps of “The Storyteller”, here’s a shot of Julian & Miles arriving in the village. I suspect this area is the designated beam-in spot as well as a gathering area. That central circle would be a little too coincidental on a Watsonian level otherwise. Regardless, I do like the set design for the Bajoran village in this episode, and there’ll be more spotlight on Bajoran architecture in the upcoming “Progress” screencaps.
