yes we can talk about baker scott
the bakery au where scott sells macaroons because beacon hills already has cupcake places and donut shops and even bread stores, so what else is left, really? They're european enough to make the upper class citizens of Beacon Hills willing to step foot in his slowly-being-redecorated bakery, and delicious enough to make everyone come back for more. scott has a flavor for everyone, of course.
lydia ordering four of the biggest boxes for her "small and intimate birthday party" that ended up involving at least 30 of her closest friends; greenburg didn't count when he dropped off the delivery (because of course scott would hire greenburg; that kid needs a break and he knows any of his friends would ignore him when he told them not to sample the wares. All it had taken with greenburg was a stern conversation. "All of these batches take a month to prepare. A month! Don't eat them. You have a employee discount, anyway." Greenburg works hard anyway.) Apparently Lydia was upset that Greenburg had shown up instead of Scott, so when he arrived at the party two hours later (after closing up) she draped herself over him and made him promise to deliver everything in person next time. "you know how sexy you are when you're holding baked goods," she says sternly before tugging on his ear teasingly.
Hayley (remember that friend they had in the first episode) gets her degree on her 21st birthday, so he brings her a batch of macaroons with Bailey's to celebrate (legally! Yay!) and she kisses him in front of her boyfriend because she's so happy about it. She knows how good Scott's baking is, okay? They grew up together. (said boyfriend is pretty chill about it after he eats a macaroon of his own, even seeks scott out and kisses him sloppily (he was a little buzzed by then))
stiles always trying to worm his way into getting a discount and scott firmly telling greenburg to always say "No." stiles making very offended noises. (scott gives him free samples when ever he's trying new recipes; honestly stiles should be happier about getting even that). "come on i'll make out with you if you give me a discount," stiles pleads as scott is closing up. "i know you want to try it." "stiles," scott says, very embarrassed.
derek and kira always meeting up at scott's bakery and buying a bunch of macaroons to share and try. and for a long time scott's not sure if they're dating because they'll take bites, say "this is good, try it," and then shove it into the other's mouth with no concern for saliva. So they probably swap it a lot. which is too bad because scott thinks they're both really cute. (In reality they're there to 1. eat yummy sweets 2. moon over scott together 3. probably make out later idk i'm really into kira/derek/scott OBVIOUSLY)
boyd and cora are much quieter about being in love with scott because they're naturally quiet people. they order, smile briefly at scott, and then leave. in the car, cora takes a bite and always sighs this tiny happy sigh and boyd holds her hand.
erica loudly flirts even though scott doesn't even usually come out of the kitchen (unless there's a problem). it doesn't matter to her. she talks about how much she loves him to greenburg at a volume she knows he'll hear and moans really provocatively when she finally starts eating. "you'll be mine one day, mccall!" she promises as she leaves.
allison coming back from college in france and squealing because scott managed to replicate the french taste so well. she runs behind the counter to hug him in the kitchen and kisses him. She tastes like pistachio and coconut, and she leaves covered in the flour from his apron.
isaac eats his without stopping to really appreciate them, but it's mostly because they're so delicious he just can't stop. "scott, they're so good," he says, knocking at scott's door in the middle of the night after a breakup. "i need more macaroons." scott lets him try one of his new recipes (it's the chocolate pineapple ones erica ends up favoring) and after isaac eats three scott manages to make him curl up in his lap on the couch. "you're so good," Isaac whispers, tapping scott's wrist, but scott ignores him because his macaroons are amazing and isaac is probably just affection starved after everything that went down with his latest beau.
danny and jackson coming in together at Danny's insistence--he's not embarrassed about being super into scott and wanting to support him. Jackson drags his feet but almost cries after his first bite. scott is concerned, of course (greenburg calls him into the room after jackson nearly collapses in danny's arms) but danny just pats jackson's head and says "he's in love with you and your baking but doesn't know how to admit it." and then smiles at scott very happily.
like literally everyone being in love with scott but he just thinks it's his delicious macaroons. to be fair, lydia and isaac both said, "can i marry you so you'll make me these all the time?" and stiles and allison always say "i love you so much i swear" right after biting into a macaroon. seriously, was he meant to take that seriously?
and like, where does the switch flip? i just don't know because scott can be really stubborn, and it's not even like in the show where he knows who he likes and is willing to pursue them immediately, because he's super into all of these people, and it kind of seems like they're all into him, but not and that sucks. so maybe there's a bunch of useless pining on everyone's side before someone finally convinces scott that they're serious and want him to go a date with them. it's probably boyd, honestly. and scott would say "but, you and cora--aren't you?" "Yes," boyd would say. "So you'd be dating both of us, if that's okay."
and scott being so relieved because at least he's not breaking anything up and at least he doesn't have to choose between the two of them. but i'm also super into the idea of both cora and boyd being ace so that relationship would be really interesting to put scott into--more queerplatonic than romantic, but still romantic to a certain extent--hand holding, dating, kissing, cuddling, casual and affectionate touches.
and then cora mentioning to scott that her brother is totally into him, and so is his girlfriend, so maybe he should talk to them about some stuff? and scott thinking, for a brief terrifying moment that they're breaking up with him until boyd reassures him. "just because we don't want to date them doesn't mean we don't want to share you with them" and derek and kira are totally fine with the arrangement so that's how scott gets the next two petits-amis.
stiles acts all offended. "i can't believe you have two boyfriends, two girlfriends, and you still won't make out with me" so scott is like "uh okay i'll talk to them about it?" because at this point he's learned not to immediately assume someone's joking and to just go with it. he thinks making out with stiles would be nice, anyway. and okay, stiles was halfway joking but he's always been halfway serious, too, so he waits with crossed fingers until like a week later after everything's been discussed, and scott gravely sits him down on the couch and seriously says, "they said they weren't surprised and i should probably just go for it" and then stiles tries to jump up and kiss him but scott catches him halfway and presses him into the couch cushions where they can both be more comfortable.
so on and so forth until finally the only hold out is jackson (danny sealed the deal soon after stiles. sometimes the three of them hook up, but danny and stiles are only halfway attracted to each other or something, so that's kind of just for special occasions)
surprisingly, it's erica who manages to coax him into it. "Let's go dancing, scott," she says, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Just you and me. You never spend any time on just me." "i'm dating a lot of people," he says defensively. but he feels bad. maybe he can't really juggle this...he could hire someone else on at the bakery? every part of him rebels against the thought, though, because he loves the bakery and it brought everyone to him. Anyway, who else could prepare macaroons so perfectly? "and yet i'm not a part of any orgies," erica sighs, wiggling closer to him. "Please go dancing with me?" so they do, and she manages to get scott and some other guy to grind on her--oh, scott thinks, when he meets eyes with the dude over her shoulder. it's jackson, which he'd never expected to actually come to fruition, but with erica as a buffer jackson doesn't seem as scared to admit it, and even smiles at scott. they kiss erica's neck and then each other, and erica crows a little.
and in the morning, scott always has to be up and and gone by four to get everything ready at his bakery, but whoever has stayed over always finds warm breakfast in the oven--sometimes a casserole his mother gave him the recipe for, or pancakes, or monkey bread, or cinnamon rolls--it depends on what they like.
scott's food is like christmas. everybody feels loved. but actually being loved by scott--that's even more magical, and all the macaroons in the world couldn't beat it.
(he still doesn't give anyone discounts)

wow this got so long on accident
of course there was proper discussion of everything his partners were okay with before scott ever got into a relationship with someone new. sometimes they (specifically isaac and stiles) squabble over who scott loves the most but scott always pets their heads and says, "i love all of you equally, now get out of my kitchen." (they're not really worried; the two of them just like to argue with each other)
