The losers club.
Finally finished up all their refs! I didn't realize it'd take me that long but here they all are!
Adrien Melon, an indie animator on newgrounds was working on a new project before having his computer raided by hate watchers. As someone who did a lot of specifically queer stickfight animations that would often subvert the masculinity and violence found in the genre with an adult perspective, he gained quite the hate following for having a sort of "soft boy" animation and writing style. While working on his biggest animated project yet, Adrien was sent malware through someone he was talking to on newgrounds that both gathered information on Adrien and doxxed his address. At a certain point, the harassment he got for his leaked projects and other personal information leaked, Adrien was eventually hospitalized. When returning home, he found his laptop was wiped, including getting rid of the malware.
While Adrien was away from the computer, much like Orange left the program he was in, the Losers were haunted through their source by the malware only known as "It." Their source was always meant to be a stick fight animation, but as characters they were designed to be lovers, to be characters who broke free from the genre. It, personified much like other forms of malware in the series, decided to target them specifically, seeing them as vulnerable and too weak to fight back. Instead, of course, the seven of them absolutely killed it and in the process of saving themselves, they accidently proceeded to destroy their source and the other animations on Adriens computer, completely wiping it as they were all uploaded to new grounds independently as cut up clips of the source, and were scattered through out stick city with little to no memory of what just happened. All they could remember were vague aspects of their source, nothing of each other, and all assumed they were inherently from stick city.
Currant - Raised as a homeschooled farmer in his source, Currant loves to learn and absorb new information and immediately found himself gravitating towards the stick city libraries and archival. Unlike the others, the lack of knowledge of himself drove him mad, he needed to know who he was and where he came from and would regularly surround himself in his attempts to find out. Currant does not physically fight, but he has a stun gun he keeps on him at all times, with no memory of how he got it or when he last used it. He assumes it came inherently from working with animals.
Ember - She hit the ground running, desperate to get away from something she doesn't remember. She surrounded herself with other sticks almost immediately, trying to embed herself in some social group to feel like an "insider" and have a form of safety. Ember ended up falling into fashion almost by accident, lead by another stick she met in stick city in attempts of giving her a creative outlet for all that anxiety and frustration towards the world. Ember is both physically capable of fighting, and has small psychic powers of her own that she is currently unaware of.
Gamboge - As someone who's always been a bit aimless, his arrival in stick city was leisurely instead of panicked. Everything was bright and loud and entertaining, he found himself entertaining himself by making other sticks laugh or upsetting them for his own amusement. It didn't take long for Bo to be picked up by a theatrical fighting ring in stick city who immediately saw him as a performer, and he was more than happy to sign a bunch of contracts he didn't read to join the stick entertainment industry. Bo now works as a professional theatrics fighter, and often loses during his scripted fights.
Myrtle - By the books and a rule follower, Myrtle almost immediately clung to the concept of Rocket Corp when he first arrived in stick city. The beacon of technological advancements and the consistancy that Rocket Corp appeared within the city became a safe familiarity more than anything else to Myrtle and he found himself absolutely sucked into the history and development of Rocket Corp, and more importantly the person behind it. Myrtle, already interested in law, became a personal defense lawyer for sticks in stick city, often working along side Rocket Corp to help excuse some of the public choices victim. makes if brought into contention.
Glaucous - Despite being a director and choreographer of fights, Glaucous himself does not like fighting much, living with an unexplainable anxiety that if he ever turns away or stops directing than one of his fighters is immediately going to die. Glaucous doesn't remember exactly what lead him to looking into getting this position and actively tries not to think about anything but whats right in front of him. It sadly, does not work. His mind often goes to the worst results that could happen when two sticks are fighting and can find himself getting hostile at those imagined scenarios. Glaucous is often alone, and does not spend time with other people if he's not on set.
Ashe - Despite remembering almost nothing about her source, Ashe carries around a small poem she's had on her body since arriving in stick city. She was aimless for a good long time but as someone who enjoyed architecture from the begining, when Ashe began to notice how quick buildings were being destroyed and how often they needed repairs in the city. Doing her best to implant herself as someone who was needed, Ashe quickly started getting involved with programs where she could help rebuild many of the buildings after damage was done. She now works as a head of construction on most public projects that stick city works on. She keeps that poem in her wallet.
Bakermiller - Even though Baker adores watching other people fight and seeing the damage they can do with their bodies, he himself has been convinced for as long as he could remember that he is more akin to victim. than anyone else, that if he even dared to try fighting his body would immediately break. So as a way to make up for that, he got into risk and wound analysis, working as a lawyer and accountant for sticks who want to make sure that their fighting arenas are safe and more importantly lawsuit free. Miller finds the work interesting, but spends most of his time imagining being the person causing the damage, not predicting it.
