In 2017 Los Angeles artist David Esfahanian, aka Bumblebeelovesyou spent Cinco de Mayo painting outside The Kitchen at 20th and K St in Bakersfield and says he felt incredibly welcomed by an appreciative community. As part of the city's efforts to attract talent and investment there is a growing recognition that it must have a strong downtown and art scene. In addition, this project was used as a catalyst for raising awareness of Kern County's rate of food insecure households and provided an opportunity for a food drive and fundraising for Bakersfield Homeless Center. @bumblebeelovesyou/ @thekitchen1317/
