The idea for my new show began with the song “Translucent Vision” that I wrote several years ago. It considers the challenge of shaping the world around us while holding a disfigured view of it. The new series of paintings are a continuation of that investigation, questioning the possibility of breaking through a universe of preconceptions that distance and dissociate us from more directly experiencing each other and the world around us.
