Kitchen Sink Pudding
This is the recipe for what my grandfather and I call Kitchen Sink Pudding.
He came up with it when I was recovering from an eating disorder, during a time when the only things I felt safe eating were different kinds of pudding. He told me that it was “better for you than store-bought pudding, and it tastes just as good.” He was right.
I wanted to share this because it genuinely helped me, and also because it’s just really fucking good.
-1 cup cottage cheese -2 or 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder -2 or 3 tablespoons stevia sweetener -1 teaspoon maple syrup (or vanilla extract, but I prefer syrup) -1 banana, sliced -a dash of salt
Blend everything until thick and creamy. Refrigerate if you want it chilled, then enjoy.
We call it Kitchen Sink Pudding because the first time he made it, he just threw together whatever he could find in the kitchen that he knew I liked, and blended it up. When he handed it to me, he joked that it had “everything but the kitchen sink” in it, and the name has stuck ever since.
I hope anyone who tries this enjoys my grandfather’s creation as much as I do. 💛
