It’s always great to have a fresh smelling room to enter to, especially if it’s non-toxic, I tend to react to heavily chemicalized air fresheners, the last time I experienced one was at the car wash, where the guy sprayed a heavily chemicalized air freshener, and I remember as I entered the vehicle I could feel something entering my lungs and had a terrible dry cough that lasted for more than a week and I remember suffering terribly.
I then realized that it was the air freshener that made me react so badly. I was thinking if I as an adult could react so bad to this. Imagine if kids and pets are exposed to this? This is extremely harmful and we must be aware of the consequence.
I’ve come across a couple of non-toxic ways to refresh your room, and this was the simplest and affordable way! And you probably have all the ingredients in your pantry now!
What you will be needing:
A clean and empty bottle spray
10 drops of any essential oil you prefer (I used bergamot, see benefits of bergamot below!)
Add 10 drops of your essential oil to the baking soda
Add the mixture to the bottle
Add the distilled water and shake well!
Now go ahead and spray it! You will notice how pleasant and light the fragrance is and plus the baking soda absorbs any unwanted scents! Every time you need more fragrance just shake the bottle before spraying!
Benefits of Bergamot essential oil:
Bergamot is a citrussy fruit, where its rind is extracted for its oil. There are many health benefits associated with Bergamot, they are used for:
Relaxant and de-stressing
Helps with respiratory problems
You don’t just get an air freshener, but an air freshener with benefits!
