...went into town looking for over sized shirts or light jackets to wear over stuff seeing as the weather is perking up a bit.
Went into a few places.
My old faithful - Cow - let me down. Normally their vintage stuff is amazing and not too ridiculously expensive...but the Nottingham store of the chain is going down hill. Focusing more on 're-works' and the price tags! If i'm buying vintage, I want the original as it is....not in a style that doesn't suit the item!
Anyway.
Went next to a place called Braderie, it's been there a while but I've never paid much attention to it. Some brilliant stuff in and amazing prices! Found 2 over sized silk shirts for £12, one brown and one burgundy! Result!
(This place also has an amazing collection of cameras....all of which are for sale as well as being display items!)
Then next was Baklash! This place used to be hidden in a tall slim building and you had to climb a ridiculous amount of steps to get to it. But they've moved...only around the corner. And the shop is amazing. It has a Post-box Red Vespa in the front...so I was instantly sold. All the clothes are in good condition and the woman who owns the place has really put her heart into it. She's a doll.
Not everything is priced but mannnn do they do you a good deal. First I found an over sized shirt that looks like a silk patchwork cloth (my brothers not too keen but I am in love with it). It was only £5 and just needs a couple of stitches here and there. Secondly was an 80's French Connection mid length denim jacket in a tie dye affect (colours being, yellow, orange, pink, blue and purple).
It didn't have a tag on it so asked the woman if she could quote me a price and she said she would give it to me for a tenner! A TENNER! Made my day!
And the guy who served me......helloooo modern hottie working a 50's quiff! And he talked to me for aaaaages about vintage stuff and did I "go to the Nottingham Vintage fair....ah man, you missed it....damn it...there was so much stuff there, you might have like....well, maybe next time eh...yeah see you there".
I didn't get his name.
Damnit.
